Visiting Your Job On Your Day Off
So I am sitting in Starbucks sipping on my hot chocolate and all of a sudden I realized that one of the ladies who works here is here on her night off. She is dressed in ordinary clothing instead of the typical outfit.
Do you ever visit your work on your day off?

Hot chocolate? You do realize it’s almost summer right?
That’s what I’m doing tomorrow. Except I’m going in to work more. BLECH.
Why were you drinking hot chocolate at the Starbucks?
Yes, its called Overtime.
If I’m at my office, I’m gettin’ paid for it!
Hot chocolate where you live? You’re crazy! lol. Back when i worked in a restaurant, i used to go in all the time on my day off to eat or harass my coworkers. So mature, i know
FUCK TO THE NO.
Dan, I remember you said you work at Planned Parenthood and get bonuses for aborting black babies. Do you take your wife on your days off when you need to GITRDUN?
not anymore
Yes I do! Funny scenario because I use to work at Starbucks and would come in
Free drinks
I’ll forgo the obvious criticism of your unbecoming drinking of the hot chocolate and instead focus on the completely bizarre “all of a sudden” context. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE SOMEBODY WAS THERE WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN.
Maybe she’s poaching the wifi…
Nope! I work the hours my job is open, so I’d be visiting a closed business if I went there on my day off!
Yeah. To use the gym.
I visited my office almost every single day of the week when I was in Honolulu, including weekends and official personal days off. I had a real problem :p
i apparently work for a dictator when i did that to hook them. I do get approval from inanimate objects because im not killing myself. Inever get a day off. I go all day everyday.
Yeahhhh. I can be a real workaholic.
At my old job, yep. All the time!
Hot chocolate… in Texas… In May…. Dan, Dan, Dan!
Ever had a frappuccino? They’re good AND COLD! lol
i only do that to pick up lunch or dinner occasionally, since i work in a restaurant. other co workrs though, actually hang out there for hours at a time, on their days off. i would never do that. it’s weird to me plus i have WAY better things to do lol
If I did, no one would be there because it would be closed. And honestly, even if I had a day off, I would only go in to pick up a check if it was payday. (We dont’ have direct deposit, sadly.)
I get to visit my workplace every day. If I’m lucky on the weekends I get to leave for a few hours… and my work comes with me. =)
—side note: Mmm Starbucks. I have literally been to Starbucks or had Starbucks once. Ever.
I occasionally swing in there. It doesn’t bother me now that I don’t do bitch work.
No way Jose!
When I worked at Dunkin’ Donuts, the off duty employees were always hanging around.
A sure sign of insanity. Day off means day off.
When I worked retail, sometimes. I had friends who were working so sometimes I’d hang until they got off. Or I had to go in to actually buy something. But now I’m in an office so there’s no need to go in if I’m not gonna work.
always. i work at a CVS Pharmacy and it is down the street from my house, i tend to buy a lot of items from there from time to time.
if there are days that i call out but still need to shop at a CVS, i usually try to avoid my particular CVS and hit up another one.
I do, but I work at a liquor store…
Sometimes I’d go with my friends to McDonalds. I could get them the discount. -__-
Sometimes, but never to socialize! For example, I go to the library (where I work) to study on my days off.
Only if I have to. I work at a public school … so they’re closed on the weekends.
I used to – every Sunday.
I am at my workplace right now on a day off. The school is the only place where I can get access to the Internet.
Yeah, one of my coworkers thought I was crazay.
oh my god, why?
I’m retired.
If i did work, sure. Our work is part of your life, why treat it as an enemy.
I’m a high school teacher. Do football games count?
If I worked at Starbucks I would! Free drinks, I’m sure!
rarely. I once went in on a day off to get my schedule for the following week, only to find out that I was actually supposed to be working that evening, and I had written my schedule down wrong in my calendar.
What’s the point in having the day off?
Yes, on occasion, but i dont like to cause i get sucked into working. I
don’t need to, i just feel the need to help when things get busy. I
refuse to watch my friends suffer when i have the power to alleviate it.
I would never.
Not unless I’m doing overtime.
Yes. I work in a bookstore. I go there on my off days to shop for myself, read, or buy gifts for friends. PS It’s always a good time for hot chocolate!
I work at a bar so.. free drinks. =]
Oh god no. I don’t even like going on the days I’m scheduled.
I work at home so I visit my work every day.
only to pick up pay.
no way.
I dislike work when I’m there working, why would I want to be there on a day off?
Nope, not unless I’m coming by to eat (I’m a hostess at Cajun’s Wharf) and use my 50% off discount
I work at the coffee shop where most of my friends hang out, so I practically live here. I say “here,” because I’ve been at the coffee shop where I work since 8 this morning, and I don’t start work til noon. Chances are good that I’ll be here after I get off, too.
Huzzah for good work environment!
Previously, at my former jobs I have but only to buy food. I wouldn’t stay. Either I ate it there and left, or take my food to go. Now, if I have a day off, we are all off unless I am taking a personal day or sick…in which case, I am definitely not driving to my workplace.
Hek no, I dont! .. And dont let them give you crap about hot chocolate. I hate coffee, so it would be water or hot chocolate for me too! Besides, isnt coffee hot too most of the time, so having hot chocolate in the summer (as a means of non-itelligence on the drinkers part) is a null argument.
What’s a day off?
Never. It feels weird.
No way. The only time I came in on my day off was because I forgot something I needed that day.
I am at my favorite coffee shop “The Nervous Dog” and quite frequently one or two workers can be seen breezing in or out. I can tell they are good friends. They must really be close to do that.
When I worked at a sushi restaurant, I did come in a few times for sushi. I got discounts for working there and it was awesome sushi, so it wasn’t a big deal.
Day off? What is that:):)
What work? I live in murrica.
Dan wants to cheat on his wife!!!!!!!!!!!!
no way! days off are days off for a reason!
Yes, to pick up my paycheck.
I’ve done that before. I’ve even had customers come up to me and ask questions about certain products at work. They assume I’m on the clock, even though I am clearly in street clothes.
No…but I did call it from South Beach, Miami once just to do some bragging and rub it in.
All the time. When I had days off…
Not unless I absolutly have to… and I love a good hot chocolate… Seattle’s best is way better than Starbucks though…
Yes, sometimes I actually visit my work during my day off .. I think it’s good sometimes. By the way do you love cooking? You can visit http://www.gourmandia.com for recipes.

Definitley not. Maybe If I am going bowling or something, but I work in an arcade. And this arcade sucks.. I like games and all…. Mostly consol though so its pretty boring if I go there on my days off lol.
Every once in a while when I need to buy something and am in the area. My boyfriend always asks why on earth I would want to though. But I really liked Best Buy before I got a job there, so I don’t mind going there on my day off. Plus I can make fun of my coworkers who are stuck working.
