  • Naked People In Movies

I remember when I was in my late 20s that I went to a movie with my parents and there were naked people having sex.

I remember thinking it was awkward.  I also felt the same way when seeing a movie with naked people when I was with friends.

Do you feel awkward when you see naked people in a movie?

  • H.B.O all day every day.

  • Depends on who I’m watching with.

Game of Thrones, for example: I will watch that with my husband, but wouldn’t dream of watching it with my mother or my in-laws.

  • Depends on who I’m with.

  • There’s naked people in movies?!

  • Yeah. Tentacle anime is misunderstood.

  • Watching it doesn’t make me feel awkward.
Even when I’m watching it with people who don’t typically view movies like that….and it should.

My thought process usually goes something like:  ”This should probably feel really awkward and a little wrong……but OMG! THIS IS AWESOME.”

  • No, I used to watch porno movies with my parents all the time.

  • Were they having sex in the seats next to you or in the aisle?  Either way very awkward.

Also, awkward to be watching a movie with your parents and naked people are in the movie.  I once had to watch “Top Gun” with both my parents and grandparents and that was very awkward.  I was sure none of them understood sex at all!!!

  • yup, I feel awkward when not totally sick/nauseous when I see sex scenes…unless it’s anime, then I’m okay with it :P

  • What if Leave It To Beaver’s parents had a racey sex scene in it back in the 60′s.Oh crap, now I gave Hollywood an idea.Redo Leave it to Beaver with a sexy June Cleaver!

  • Yeah, pretty much. NOT because sex is to be shy from, but there are certain things that really SHOULD be left to the bedroom.

  • Thinking back, I can’t imagine going to the movies with my parents when I was in my 20s, nudity or not.

  • Yea it’s pretty awkward when there’s naked people sitting next to me in a dark room.

  • I feel awkward when I’m watching the movie with my daughter. I guess that makes me the granny here. Good golly I feel old.

  • Well it would be kind of difficult to have sex with your clothes on

  • Only if they are my relatives!

  • All depends on who I’m with. Awkward with family, whatever with friends.

  • I’m ok with naked people.

  • I don’t necessarily feel “uncomfortable”

    I think it’s silly.

Sex is usually used as a means just to “sell” … and quite frankly, I don’t go to movies to see boobies and butts. I go for a story/plot etc, and as an actress, I believe that it cheapens the performance of the actor/actress.

Acting is about ACTING, not boobies.

  • I hate it. It’s always completely unnecessary.

  • the terminator walking butt naked in the intro scene was funny then in the total recall movie, the topless alien chick with 3 boobs was cool the sex scene with sharon stone and arnold was pretty hot. arnold’s movies aren’t bad at all

  • Only if I’m in the movie.

  • I only attend movies where the audience is naked.

  •  I had to read this 4 times before commenting.

I have never seen a naked person in a cinema (because I rarely go to the cinema)  even though we have about 4 cinemas in the city where I live.

I am sure that some people have tried to have sex in the cinema clothed or unclothed whether in the toilets or in the showing of one of the films.

I also thought about commenting seeing naked people in the film at the cinema (I don’t go to films which contain nudity with people)  now some people are probably thinking what about animals   well the only films I seen like that are disney jungle book and a few others.

  • I’m uncomfortable when there is a KY commercial on t.v. or tampax one.

  • It depends on the context. My least favorite are all those unnessisary breast flashes and sex scenes in horror movies.

  • not really.. but I’ll never watched anything which involves naked people with parents :p

  • It’s not so much a weird feeling so much as a loss of respect for the makers of the film. To me, nudity in a movie usually screams “we want more people to watch this, so let’s throw some trash in.” Very few people can do nudity in a movie beautifully. And I’m not talking about looks. I’m talking about making it seem natural and not awkward. That’s my two cents. :)

  • @MCTCanadian - LMAO!

I only think it’s awkward if I’m with someone who I know is uncomfortable with it. When I watch a movie with someone else, it’s very important to me that they like it, too. If I can sense that they don’t for whatever reason, it lessens the enjoyment for me. That’s why I like watching movies alone every now and then.

  • No. It’s only sex, who cares? Nothing to get all embarrassed about.

  • I actually like nudity in films. There was a stage in my life where I only watched movies with nudity — it made things interesting! Haha. I’ve seen a few movies with my parents where naked people appeared on the screen and never felt awkward. The only thing I find awkward is walking some place and seeing someone I don’t particularly like — I don’t know what to do to avoid eye contact!

  • I did feel a little uncomfortable viewing our naked college flick with my family. (At least we had fun, right?)

  • Bring on the nudity! MOAR BOOBIES!

I’m actually disappointed when there ISN’T any nudity.

  • Probably is awkward sitting with your parents watching 2 people go at it. But otherwise, I’d say not really.

  • Naked people and porn get boring.  ya seen one ya seen them all.

  • If there are naked people in a movie, my hubby and I just look at each other and smirk, waiting for it to be over. Or if it is a long sex scene, we fast forward it. Sex in movies is really unnecessary, in my opinion. Let it be implied or whatever. But I don’t want to watch another couple going at it.

  • Not if it has something to do with the advancing the story. Most nudity and sex in movies are gratuitous and serve no real purpose, and gratuitous nudity/sex does make me embarrassed.

  • @firetyger - this is how i feel, it’s unnecessary.

you don’t have to have sex/nudity in a movie to have a great movie but some people suck so much at making movies that they have to throw boobs in there to please at least someone. look at the movie inception. AMAZING movie. no sex. no nudity. perfect movie. sometimes it makes me feel awkward, sometimes it just ruins the scene/movie. like…300. i know a lot of people loved that sex scene but i found it to be absolutely pointless lol. for the most part i try to avoid movies that are filled with sex and nudity. they aren’t my type anyways. i prefer movies like…iron man, transformers etc. if those movies happen to have a sex scene or boobs i’ll get over it.

  • @grizzlybearr - Exactly! All of my favorite movies…Inception, LOTR, Avengers, etc. are sex-free. It’s just not necessary. In my opinion, movies with weak plots or crap story lines throw in sex in hopes of distracting people from how terrible they really are.

  • @firetyger - bam. you named my favorite movies as well haha. and you’re probably right.

  • If there’s a reason for it plot-wise, I don’t really see the problem.

If it’s a bad movie with random sex, then it will probably be an even worse sex scene, in my experience.

  • Yes so just like in scary movies I make fun of it to make myself feel better. =) “Haha, look, her nipples are crooked”. No offense to anyone with crooked nipples.

  • Naked people? pft! Its the way they were made! I am only uncomfortable when I am naked!

  • HoW about we just stop watching most movies?  I don’t mind seeing naked people in movies and sex scenes… as long as it’s not vulgarized in a very horrible way.  Or if it’s rape, I would definitely feel sick…

But movies that constantly show naked people, like those horrible wannabe comedies… I throw them in the garbage.  And it’s actually not because of the fact that they’re nude!  It’s the people I hate, not their bodies.  Heck, flaunt a wonderful body if you have it, but don’t be an A-sshole about it. -_0
