A Message From the Xanga Team
Hello, This is the Xanga Team. A hurricane is hitting New York as we speak. Xanga is based in New York so we might go down in the next 24-48 hours. We just want you to check thetheologianscafe for any updates because no matter what we will keep his site up. He is our favorite.
We also want to address a common criticism around xanga that we are too slow to address issues from our Xangateam site. This is an unfair criticism. We would like to take this time to express our sympathy to the victims of 9/11. Terrorism will not stand. We also want to congratulate President Bush for his impressive victory over John Kerry.Since we are on thetheologianscafe will will end with a question.Imagine you are in a hurricane and you have to evacuate. If you had to grab one thing during a hurricane to take with you, what would you take?

Lololol, I love it when you write posts like these, Dan.
LOL!
Gotta’ save the weed. It’s gonna’ be a long week.
With any luck my children and doggie but they can walk for themselves, prolly my phone
Hahahahaha oh my
LOLOL
My dog!
I’ll take my piggy bank with me. Sandy is having fun here in Ohio.
My psycho dog.
This was funny.
One thing? My family.
my kite, and i wouldn’t evacuate; i would fly my kite.. in a boat if necessary.
I lived in Houston when Allen came thru. Just bought more vodka and sat it out
My laptop, so that I can continue to get my daily dose of TheoDan’s questions. ;D
This is awesome. Good job Dan.
condoms
iPad FTW!
Oh, my goodness. I thought, “Whaaaat?” Then, I “got”it. I am slow, too! Hmmm, what would I take? My Nikon. Of course, my husband would be with me. And our dog. You did say One Thing. But, as you can see, people don’t listen to the rules anymore, right? Like the Ones who refused to leave and now what?
My dog and my computer so I can still get to your page!!!
My identity card
A hurricane glass? Drink? Lamp?
Seriously, since my family would automatically be with me, I’d probably take my cash stash. Plastic doesn’t work well in emergencies.
I have no idea. I would absolutely have to take a duffle bag at least. Thank goodness we don’t get too many hurricanes here in WV. LOL (And we are too high for flooding where we are too.)
Well duh, I’d take my Discover card.
They tell me don’t leave home without it.
My purse with my digital camera and external hard drive.
Weed
I’d probably die cause I can’t decide and I’d stay in my house until its too late :/
bwahahahahaha
I know this is fictional because I’m the favorite xangan I have to take more than one thing so I’ll bring my dog and a toothbrush
wait a minit, what is the date again??
My internet, of course.
The best post I’ve ever read of yours! LOL…
I thought you were kidding until Xanga went down! EVEN your site, awful!!! <3
Is this a trick question? My framed picture of the first time Dan commented on one of my blogs. Duh!
Nothing like biting the hand that feeds you.
I’d probably be still inside, waiting for the power to come back on so I can get on the apartments’ website and submit a maintenance request about the leaks in the ceiling.
lol!
Goodness Dan, was this sent when Bush defeated Kerry and is just now making it to this site? That can’t be good. Hmmm, can’t help but wonder how they would not be able to keep the Xanga site up but still keep yours up? LOL
What a Hoot!
don’t panic and never forget your towel. it’s a bit of a drizzle out there.
Almost had me fooled.
Well. I will have to choose between my flip phone and my walkman.
FEMA trailers are on the way. Heard that Bush blew up the leeves in NJ.
I would staple all of my pets together, and take them as one unit.
Maybe my phone.
I’d take my Walkman with my cassette tapes. Gotta keep up with the latest technology.
My dog
Good job! Love this post :3
I would grab a flashlight.
Since my husband is a person and not an item, I think he can take care of himself.
My pictures are in a flood and fire ‘proof’ locked box so I don’t have to worry about them. We’re supposed to keep pillows, blankets, bottled water, and a first aid kit in the car, so let’s pretend those are actually out there. We’re also supposed to have ‘grab and go’ bags with some clothes and toiletries and some granola bars. So, pretending we’d actually gotten new bags packed up since we cycled out the last ones (you should cycle out such things every few months), we’d each grab our bag.
Phone, keys, wallet are a given.
I would take toilet paper.
Lol great post, Dan. I’d take my social security/license.
Seeing as I actually have had to do this I took the box that I had packed ahead of time that had the important papers in it (insurance, phone numbers, non-replaceable must have to do business papers, etc), laptop and charger, phone charger, video of the house and it’s contents for insurance purposes, cash and more cash and credit cards, jewelry that was not insured, prescription medicines and….. oh I don’t remember the rest. But with a hurricane you usually know it is coming so you can prepare and have an easy to take box (had to do this with a fire this past summer too and had less time so I wasn’t as organized as I was with the hurricane). You can also take time to load your car with the stuff you need and evacuate. Now if you aren’t in a mandatory evacuation area or choose to stay if you are in one (dumb) you might just have to go with what you fit in your pockets. For sure I’d get the medicine, my cell phone, and the insurance agent’s card. I am assuming of course that my family is a given.
I’m not leaving with just one thing. As a female, I have a built in purse that will come in handy.
