  • Did the Titanic Exist?

The archaeologist that discovered the wreck of Titanic is claiming he found evidence of the Biblical flood that Noah built his ark to avoid.  Here is the link:  Link
I am sure you are starting to question this man just like me.

  • I’ll never let go, Jack.

  • no, it was just a movie.

  • YES, I SAW THE MOVIE

  • Of course not! It’s an urban legend created by the early commercial airline industry.

  • They took away Pluto & the Brontosaurus but they can’t take away the Titanic. Kill this quack.

  • No, I suppose Neil Armstrong just flew to the moon on Southwest…
Of course it existed. You see him climbing out of it on tape. Duh.

  • I see what you did there.

  • About 6 months ago there was an exhibit of relics from the Titanic — I was privileged to see this exhibit in San Diego.  There is NO DOUBT that the Titanic exhisted.

  • what? are they playing that movie again… I like pirates… titanic is a bore. Noah is real.. the ark is real… the moon and titanic are stories.

  • I hope this means Celine Dion isn’t real either.

  • How cool. I’m currently reading a book by John C. Whitcomb and Henry M. Morris titled “The Genesis Flood: The Biblical Record and Its’ Scientific Implications”. I’ll have to check out the link to the Titanic guy tomorrow.

  • The value of Jesus has gone up my friend. 30 pieces of silver?? What a doucebag..LOL..

  • Yes, both the titanic and the ark existed.

  • I don’t believe there was every a flood… The Noah story just never sat right with me… but yes the titanic truly existed… The evidence it there for the titanic… Noah.. I think not… The luxor in las vegas has a beautiful exhibit… the have a piece of the ship along with things belonging to some of the passengers… we were even give tickets with the name of a passenger… they said mine lived… I did the research and read that womans story. It was beautiful

  • I think it existed.

  •  now I’m not sure

  • Well, now I’m not sure….

  • Only James Cameron would know the answer

  • the Black Sea deluge theory is actually pretty old……. and it certainly doesn’t “prove” the Noah myth because it wasn’t worldwide.  i’m not sure why it’s suddenly news.

…then again, i’m an archaeology student.  i’m usually learning about theories long before the public hears of them.

  • I think this is actually true. Not the “Noah” story, I just mean a really huge flood in that area, which for people with only a prehistorical world view would have seemed like a flood which ‘covered the entire world.’ And I think that stories of the giant flood were passed down orally for years, and distorted into legend. That’ why religions that sprung up in that particular region have oddly similar myths about God/s flooding the world. I mean, the Noah story is just a Judaic version of the older Mesopotamian flood myth.

Sort of like the story of the Trojan Wars; for a long time historians thought that the story was made up and Troy never existed, until the late 1800s when an archaeologist discovered the ruins of the city. That doesn’t mean that everything in the Illiad is true, obviously, but it does show that later civilizations often wrote fictionalized accounts of prior historical events. So yeah, I think there really was a flood, and then people fictionalized it into a religious folk tale.

  • Hey, maybe he’ll find Atlantis next!  What a crock!

  • I think the Titanic existed..Perhaps Ballard is telling the truth…

  • The Black Sea now occupies a valley area where early man once inhabited.
At undersea levels are remains of stuff that proves people used to live
    at those sites.

Somehow the Mediterranean Ocean broke through and Flooded the area where the Black seas is now located. Seeing evidence of villages, shore sea creatures shell at 400 feet below is pretty solid evidence that 5,000 years ago there was a valley civilization.

How was Noah warned of the impending calamity? Why were animals gathered if there is no world wide flood? Is it true that Unicorns were not gathered into Noah’s ark and that’s why they don’t exist?

  • My aunt survived the Titanic, Dan.  Eleanor Shuman has her own wiki page, you can check it.  I knew her, I talked to her, I heard the stories first hand.

I can definitely state with full assurance — the Titanic existed.

As to the ark — isn’t it interesting… and I mean this seriously…. that every culture, everywhere on the globe, even those with no connection to Christianity or Judaism, seem to have a global flood story or myth?  And the points of agreement within those stories are striking and sobering.  Makes you wonder…. if it actually did happen at some point in time and from 8 folks cooped up on the worlds largest floating zoo the stories passed along to every nation and tribe thereafter.

Such devastation on such a vast scale — leaves an impact that I doubt any number of generations could erase.  Just ask the Jews about the Holocaust if you don’t believe me.

But to actually grasp the numbers here…. to actually consider the total breadth of devastation ourselves… when you see it spelled out…. it really does give you pause to wonder at the judgment of God upon sin.   This is a link to a post I wrote 3 years ago on just this topic.
