So You Think You Can Dance
I have never been a good dancer. I am your typical 6’4″ guy who just does not move quickly.
I went to the Father Daughter Dance with my daughter. 60-70% of the fathers stood off to the side while their daughters danced. Not me. I jumped into the middle of the circle and danced. There were some other fathers there with me. They just followed whatever the kids were doing and played along.I am sure I looked odd but who cares. I don’t know any of them anyway. Are you a good dancer?

No I am not.
Kudos to you! I’m sure your daughter loved that. And no, I’m a terrible dancer.
No. I’m a terrible dancer, and will only do so if I’m wasted. Even then, probably no dancing.
No, no i am not! Haha
15 years of formal training. I should be.
Really good, if you like it provocative. I never really learned any other way to dance. I suck at ballroom dancing. So here I am, a 29 year old mother who by dances like a stripper

Great dancer
Heck no. I have a good sense of rhythm but I can only copy, not create- I was good at ballet, but I can’t just dance free-form with no template. I would rather be a DJ.
Your daughter will treasure that memory all her life, so great that you did that! I am a pretty good dancer, I had training for a long time and love it.
Nope. But you don’t have to to have fun, and slow dancing is so easy. Most of the time everyone else is too caught up in whoever they are or want to be with to notice anyway. Most I’ll do in public is slow dance though. Unless the music is really good and I am really happy.
I dance like a middle-aged white woman with no rhythm. It’s baffling.
Yes.
That is so sweet of you. You’re the cool dad!
I’m a so-so dancer. I can hold my own, but I ain’t no Ginger.
@ShimmerBodyCream - Then we should dance
)
I plead the 5th.
after a nice glass or three of wine, i can make people forget about michael jackson.
I can’t dance, I can’t talk, the only thing about me is the way that I walk.
i’d like to think that i am
I am a master at the polka, waltz, and Susquehanna shuffle
@ShimmerBodyCream - show me how to moon walk.
Oh no. Not even close!
No, I don’t like dancing
I cannot, the closest thing i ever learned to dance was kata when i was doing martial arts (it’s been waaaay too long). funny thing though, went to a club once for a friends 21st birthday, and not being a good dancer just went to the back room dance floor and basically did.. not a real kata, but various techniques together like one, and had women coming up to dance with me and whatnot, whereas my friend would try to dance with girls, and be polite and ask them to dance and was told to piss off. it was like bizzarro world in there that night as in the real world the opposite is generally what would happen.
I’m a damn good dancer. I dance all the time.
I can do the robot, and people think it’s on purpose…but that’s just how stiff I am. I can dance pretty good in my room by myself, but I can’t in front of people.
Sort of.. ahahah… depends on the music played..
That’s going to be a good memory for your daughter…eventually.
I’m good at looking like I’m having a grand mal seizure while still standing. Does that count as dancing? If not, then no, I do not think I can dance.
I am a damn good dancer, if you count doing the Drunken White Girl Shuffle as dancing ;P if not, then I can manage to move around a little without looking too spastic ;P
I can do the worm, that counts for something.
I never learned how to dance.
90% of the time when i dance i dance like an idiot…..on purpose….because it’s funnier and more fun that way
@Thatslifekid - You better be! LOL
I’m ok, but what is dancing around the house going to tell anybody about my dancing skillz.
I did the Twist at a school program in 2nd grade =/ does that count? Come on baby let’s do the twist - Take me by my little hand and go like this
Not really, I look awkward dancing.
I’m an *AMAZING* dancer…..and so are you, judging by how all the other dads tried to emulate you.
NO! I’d never dance in public. The kids and I dance a LOT at home though!
It’s great you danced with her! I’m sure she loved the time spent with dad. Like I said, I’m sure she’ll remember the night fondly for the rest of her life.
No, but I don’t go to dances or clubs anyways so it doesn’t matter.
Nope. Not any kind of dancer.
it is good that you danced with your daughter..i dance every day at the tune of the radio..i love dancing…
my goofy brother never could dance but he loves to get up there and be the life of the party and he usually gets me up to dance with him.
He even pulls me closer then I think is right for a brother and he hasn’t even been drinking.
he said that way the girls will ask him to dance if they see him up there -way too early in the evening and he’s right, too.
I love to dance
i am super glad you didn’t sit on the sidelines. you made it up to your daughter not only by going with her, but by acting a fool.
kudos to you, dan. i once was a pretty damned good dancer, the star attraction at clubs, etc.. but now.. i got rhythm but my feet can’t quite keep up anymore.
You are a sick man.
i bet your daughter totally loved you for that or was totally embarassed but either way that was sweet off you!!
until myleg went bad i was always a good dance for my size. i enjoyed dancing and whenever i hit a club i had a ball.
I think it’s sweet that you went and danced with your daughter. Good memories to have. Me though, I’m one of those people who sways to the music rather than actually dance.
