Women Better Off Without Bras
A recent study found that women would be better off without bras.
It was a 15 year study and they found that wearing a bra “does nothing to reduce back pain” and they found that bras actually cause an increase in breast sagging. Here is the link: LinkI hope this settles the issue.Do you think women are better off without bras?

You can’t trick me, I’ve seen National Geographic.
yes lol
I certainly think so, lol.
Fuck no, I’m fighting gravity every step of the way. I wear a bra 24/7. My tits are way too big to comfortably go braless. Ever.
@ShimmerBodyCream - ”swing low, sweet mam-maries …”
I’d be one pissed off lady if it weren’t for bras. we think guys are handsy now? sheesh. not to mention how sore our nipples get sometimes? clothes would look weird and our skin would just get even more irritated.
Yes.
My mama used to say if a gal’s breasts were big enough to be able to hold up a pencil by placing it underneath, she needed to wear a bra.
I think we need them. Most women (I’ve seen) who don’t wear bras or wear bras without under wires have low or saggy breasts.
yes…or at least bras that are no so tight…and some studies even say they can cause cancer…it could make sense as most bras are too tight…tight bras stop the flow of the blood to circulate as it should…
I love bras. They’re so pretty and fun and they’re nice for when I don’t want my boobs hitting me in the face when I run around. They’re just great.
@Crystalinne - amen to that!
u truly have a way with words, although i do feel like nips are meant to be free, i mean u dont see guys wear straps for our sacks
While that may all be supported…I find boobs look strange without a bra. And women’s shirts are remarkably see through.
Just at night! hahah
“Using a slide rule and caliper, Rouillon spent years carefully measuring changes in the orientation of breasts belonging to 130 women, at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (University Hospital) in Besançon.”
Please tell me they are taking applications for the next round of studies.
My S.O. has gone braless at least 50% of the time with no ill affects.
@ShimmerBodyCream - best thing I’ve read all day. LOL
I dont wear bras at home. feel much comfortable without it..lol.
I don’t wear bras at home because its more comfortable to freeboob it. But when I go out, I wear a bra cuz the bewbies look better.
The biggest contributor of saggy breasts is having kids or having big bahamamas naturally. Bras have nothing to do with it.
GOOD LORD! Anyone who is saying this does NOT have boobs bigger than a C or something.
My 40F’S are not NOT NOT going to be without a bra, thank you
Sagging was never actually the point. As for back pain; I find that hilarious. I know plenty of large breasted women who would vehemently argue that a bra does not do anything. I once knew a woman planning on a reduction because it was causing her severe back pain, and she said that it was extremely uncomfortable to NOT wear a bra. And as @TakingxOverxMe pointed out, they can be quite useful while… being in motion. Hence the whole existence of sports bras.
@TheGuyYouD0ntKnow - OMGOSH, it is VERY uncomfortable for me NOT to wear one. I HAVE to wear one to sleep or good Lord, they’re just like, all over the damn place.
HAHA
The chance of getting nipple burn greatly increases when you go bra-less, I suspect. I’m a guy and even I got nipple burn once (don’t ask. And no, I don’t have man-boobs).
What’s wrong with having saggy breasts? Male Humans managed to find them attractive for the last 200,000 years or more, so why not now?
Does wearing underwear cause an increase of sagging in a man’s shlong?
i don’t want titties that i can flip over my shoulder.
shouldn’t there be a another picture for comparison of the subject at hand?
I’m sorry, I completely disagree. I have to wear a bra. Otherwise it hurts just to ‘bounce’ down or up the stairs. Wearing one eases my back pain.
Besides, the case study only had 130 women. Sure, the study lasted 15 years. But with that small of a sampling… I say BS.
It’s really disappointing to hear how many women talk about saggy breasts like it’s the worst possible thing to happen to your body haha. I really don’t care if my breasts become saggy. (They are on the larger side, so it’s inevitable, anyway. Why worry about it?) Perkyness&saggyness are not things I worry about. I worry about how well they will feed my children one day. Super fucking cheesy but true. It’s sad that boobs have become SO incredibly sexualized. They exist to feed children, that’s it. How exactly they came to be looked at so sexually, I really have no idea and it’s kind of creepy to think about, honestly.
Anyway, I have ONLY ever seen studies that support this theory. I’ve never ever heard that wearing a bra is the better option. Somehow women managed just fine without them for thousands of years, bras are quite a recent invention. I’m pretty sure bra wearing might have something to do with the fucking incredible amount of women with breast cancer these days. As someone else said, it cuts off circulation and there’s all kinds of studies with, like, lymph nodes and whatnot that show bras just suck. Even if it’s not 100% accurate, it’s not even worth the risk. Saggy breasts vs breast cancer. C’mon now.
I know some women are very uncomfortable with not wearing a bra because it really can hurt to bounce your boobs around when running or walking up/down stairs, but I don’t feel like that’s enough of an inconvenience to keep wearing a bra. Not for me, anyhow. Some people also complain about boobs looking horrible without a bra, but that’s really only because we’ve gotten SO used to seeing boobs in a bra. It just makes me think of how boob-obsessed we all are yet again..that they need to look great all the damn time.
As for back pain, bras usually (remember USUALLY..not always) do make back problems a lot worse. Big breasts will cause back pain no matter what, but the bras definitely do not help. Ill fitting bras are probably at fault…and there’s also numerous other studies that say, like, fucking three fourths of women wear ill fitting bras. Is there such thing as comfortable bras? Uhm, no. All bras are ill fitting lmfao. It’s like keeping a guy’s nuts taped to his thighs.
And the thing about bras causing breasts to be more saggy? Eh. I don’t necessarily believe that but I don’t give a fuck.
So, basically, fuck bras.
@specificallyrandom - What the heck is “nipple burn”?
There’s no freaking way I’m going without a bra. It would be way too uncomfortable. I don’t even run around my house bra-less.
@AutumnStrength - Seriously, though. I don’t get it haha.
Studies have proven that men are better off when women go without bras.
I’m amazed at the sampling of women on xanga who seem to have >D bra sizes. What a strange demographic overlap.
Not so much at home as in public.
survey say’s – BAM – I am too old for the survey
those french people have all the fun =/
The bra industry will fight this theory to the end. I highly doubt the majority of first world countries would ever go w/o a bra in public. I certainly wouldn’t except when at home.
I think if you have an augmentation you don’t need a bra.
For me I like at least wearing a sports bra
until you’ve gone for a run or jumped on a trampoline and knocked yourself out with your own boobs, don’t advocate bralessness ;P
I am just not comfortable without mine, but I have a large rack…if I were a B, then I probably wouldn’t wear one that often.
That woman, 5th from the left, doesn’t need a bra because those aren’t breasts she’s wearing on her chest. Those are pharmacuetical implements.
I’m not wearing a bra and I’m definitely better off for it right now.

I <3 bras =]
“It would be of no benefit to a 45-year-old mother to stop wearing a bra,” he warned.
Glad I read the article… because my breasts needed a bra immediately after having my kids. Prior, I would have agreed with this study. I wonder if any portion of the study involved pregnancy and breast feeding?
@VampireOfSeduction - Nipple burn; getting chafed nipples from clothing rubbing across bare nipples for an extended period of time.
uptil I saw the bank draft saying $6838, I didn’t believe that…my… father in law woz actually receiving money in their spare time on their laptop.. there friend brother started doing this 4 only about 19 months and just repayed the loans on there place and purchased Renault 5. go to, http://www.wow83.com
The girls need support!
I only know it’s more comfortable without bras.
I’m a 34C, not huge, but not small either. I go braless whenever I’m at home. To me it feels like a goddamned harness. However, when I’m at work where I do a lot of physical work, a bra is an absolute must. I’d be flopping around and that’s incredibly painful.
I definitely feel more comfortable not wearing one (with the exception of sports bra when working out). It’s the second thing that comes off as soon as I get home. lol
@specificallyrandom - Weird. In normal day-to-day stuff, I don’t think clothes have ever caused a friction problem for me.
In my opinion, if you have anything over a B cup, you should wear a bra. Don’t get me wrong, at home I let my tits go free, but I wouldn’t want to go out and have them swinging in the wind. It’s unattractive.
As far as back pain, I have 42 DD, so the back pain is there. I haven’t noticed more pain with or without wearing one.
I’ve been saying they should be going au natural for years!LOL…But that would just make life more frustrating for me since I wil be able look but never allowed to reach out and touch someone….LOL…
They are most uncomfortable. I don’t wear them when I can, lol. I try to wear big shirts so I don’t have to wear them.
the FEAR is that breasts be seen for what they were intended for: feeding babies. … so much to be said on that topic….
I’ve been trying to buy that Arthur Prysock song “Your body’s making eyes at me” about a non-bra woman, but can’t find it as a single. It’s on his fabulous old album “This is My Beloved.”
Hahaha….i tink bra is nt nided, cuz galz witout bra look natural….nd d way d breast sway, kipz guyz company…lol
Personally, I could not go out in public not wearing a bra. I don’t like my nipples to show though my clothes. Also, if I am wearing a loose shirt, the shirt moving around brushing my chest is pretty uncomfortable for me. If a woman prefers not to wear one–that’s not my business. As for the article, I don’t think bras contribute to the sagging of breasts–I think it has more to do with the weight of them/gravity, the stretching of skin from vigorous movement such as that of exercise. Will one’s breast tissue hold up better/be stronger not wearing a bra for a long period of time? It is not a muscle, you can’t train them to be stronger or firmer–you can only work the muscle under the breast tissue.
Stacy London told me (via What Not to Wear) to wear bras to keep the girls from sagging. Clearly she is a world-renowned medical expert on the anatomy and physiology of breasts. I don’t really understand how they could cause harm….
I think breast look best in their natural state. A bra only helps if it’s the right size, and what it helps with is keeping the jiggle and bounce under control. It also helps posture, it can help many of us ladies from getting the ligaments stretched or torn while active or stomping around in our heels
Sagging breast come from the ligaments being stretched or torn and a breast is saggy when the nipple is pointing down. Your breast aren’t supposed to be up at your neck. The nipple should line up with the center of your bicep… If they are you’re all good. If not that’s okay too breast are still beautiful and they change… BTW just because you have large breast doesn’t mean they sag, Just because you have smaller breast doesn’t mean they won’t.
Some ladies definitely need them, but if they’re small enough I don’t see the point in wearing a bra.
@Pure_Taint - What a horrible fate!
if they’re B and below, maybe.
As the 102nd girl here to do so, I’d just like to announce to everyone that I’m a 32-34DD. (I’m serious, too)
My boyfriend showed me this article earlier today as a type of plea. He’s cute.
haha I only started wearing proper bras when I moved back to Canada and the lovely season called Winter introduced me to padding…before that I just wore cloth sport “bras” hahah they had no support or anything…they were just…there…
yay for teensy tiny boobs…
I know I’m better when women don’t wear bras. Ah how I miss the 70s.
It hurts to walk around with no bra on. Lol. So sorry but I’ll keep mine on unless I am sleeping.
I saw a girl with no bra walking around campus today. She probably didn’t think people noticed. I noticed. It was kind of bad
I think it helps to reduce brest sagging. I mean just look at those women in africa who dont have bras or any support at all their boobs are down to their navels ><. My mom has worn a bra every day since she got boobs and hers are still perky at 55 and she has never had surgery or used any weird creams.
I do think they would be better off without bras. What a hard time I had as a teenager, trying to unsnap those damn things.
But then, how would women hide those evil nipples?
This depends on the woman, but around 20 years ago, I had a mammogram and was so injured afterwards that I could not wear my bra because of the pain. And I never returned to wearing a bra, but I think if a woman wears beyond a borderline B/C cup size or has sagging boobs, it might be hard to go without one.
@LKJSlain - Haha, it really makes me wonder who exactly they were studying… anyone who furthered their agenda, I suppose.
you will rarely catch me without a bra… these babies need to be cradled and loved!
If I could go without one……….I WOULD! Lord knows after wearing that contraption all day at work…….I get home and take all the clothes off!!! Yog pants and a t-shirt for me!
I go braless whenever I can get away with it. However, nipple-pokeage-through-shirt is my main concern…
