  • Who Do You Want To Check Your Genitals?

I think most women would rather have a female doctor check their vagina.

I think most men would rather a female doctor check their genitals too.
Who would you rather check your privates, a man or a woman?

  • Male! I’m much more comfortable around male doctors for some reason.

  • Male.  I’ve had bad luck with bitchy women.

  • I’ve never needed or had any sort of exam like that (yet), but I don’t know which one I’d prefer.

  • Definitely female. No question.

  • I worked for a woman dr. and she had just as many men as she did women.

    I would rather have a woman,too.

  • I work for an ob/gyn office and we have two awesome male doctors.  It wouldn’t matter to me if it were a man or a woman but I go to a male ob/gyn

  • If I could choose, I’d rather a significant other.  But not everyone can date a Gyno.  Nevertheless, I pick a female doc.

  • I’ve heard male docs are more gentle down there, so I guess male?

  • This is funny because I have my check up this Thursday.  I see a woman but I don’t really care either way.

  • From my experience, working in the hospital, most female patients always prefer a female doctor over a male one to look at their private parts if they have a choice.

  • I really don’t care, as long as they know what they’re doing and don’t talk/ask about my mother with their fingers inside me. I feel like I have low expectations, yet I’m in the market for a new gyno.

  • I’ve had both male and female OB/Gyns. I’m comfortable with either.

  • Up until recently I’ve always had male doctors and having a physical was always an incredibly creepy experience. A year or so ago I switched to a female doctor and I like it a lot better. I now actually look forward to those prostate exams I used to dread so much!

  • Neither… I’d rather get cervical cancer and die.

  • Men! I like to pretend they are enjoying it more than I am.  I have a female doctor now, but that’s just logistics.

  • intersexed individual

  • I don’t have a preference. It’s awkward any way you look at it.

  • I’ve had both a female and male doctor, and I felt comfortable with both of them. I switch from one to the other as they are available. I noticed the male doctor is better at catching things that are wrong than the female doctor, but..

  • Oh good Lord Dan.  Mine fell out-I have no more<:)

  • As long as he was a hot male doctor I really wouln’t mind.

  • I have a female doctor for that stuff, too awkward with a male doctor. Even though I know it’s not really ‘awkward’ because they’re a doctor and all. I still feel it.

  • Hah! I like the comment about preferring a significant other or spouse to do the fiddling around down there! :P
    If only, eh?
They should make it so that the doc can dicate to the significant other what to do, where to prod, etc hahaha…
    Yeah, not seriously. -_-

Guess if I had to pick, I’d want a woman looking around down there. At least she’d know what’s what, and I wouldn’t be lying there wondering if the guy’s got a raging woody or summat!

  • My doc is a man, so I’ll go with that.  Anyway, had a lot of medical types staring and prodding when I was a kid, so I just got used to it.

  • I dont care, as long as I can see their pupils dilate in wonder.

  • Male.  I’ve had bad experiences with bitchy female doctors.

  • Doesn’t matter to me, but if it’s for a doctors appointment then def female, unless the male doc is hawt.  lol

  • We have known each other for a long time Dan, and I have developed a considerable amount of trust for you, therefore….

  • weirdo TSA agents! if makes me so…fly!

  • @Grannys_Place - you crack me up Ruth!

When I started going to the gyn there weren’t any female gyn’s, now there are both …. so I don’t go anymore … one less thing to worry about

  • I don’t care either way. It isn’t a social need really that it matters to me.

  • I would prefer a woman checking my genitals. Don’t really feel comfortable with male doctors anymore…

  • @lauraw84 – it wouldnt matter but you chose a male? So it DOES matter?

  • I’ve often wondered myself why men prefer a woman doctor for things like this. I have had at least 25 doctors in the last two years peering, cutting, inspecting, radiating and doing various other assorted unmentionable things to my girlie bits (Stage 3B Cervical cancer, sorry I didn’t just go ahead and die @FallenSafely - ) and the only thing I care about is that they know what they are doing and that they are fully present with me, and not doing things by rote. Couldn’t care less about the gender.

  • @tracy - I am sorry about your cancer. I am glad you are fighting it, but I think you took what I said wrong. I said I would rather get cervical cancer and die. Meaning that nobody is looking down there so even if I get stage 3 cancer, nobody is going to catch it, ever. I will die. Let me introduce myself, I spent the majority of my childhood in a pornography ring. To even think about a doctor at all looking at me down there is terrifying for me to the point that I would rather die. I didn’t say that lightly to offend people who have cervical cancer. I meant it.

  • It doesn’t particularly matter to me, as long as they’re professional about it. It’s an awkward situation no matter what, having a stranger down there literally investigating your genitals. But I have heard that men are more gentle than women, though I don’t know from experience as I’ve only ever had male doctors and gynos.

  • I permit my G/F to check my privates. She seems to have this magic touch about them.

  • @FallenSafely - I appreciate your explanation. I am very sorry for your childhood trauma.  I see that you were only speaking for yourself personally. I hear many people say things like this flippantly and occasionally I find it quite maddening, especially when it falls within days of my visit to the oncologist. Ranks right up there with the people who say they wish they would get cancer so they could lose weight on chemo, Luckily  I only had two people actually say that to my face.

While I would never compare my childhood to yours I will say that mine can certainly be categorized as not normal and has caused irreparable damage to my view of people. It makes my throat close up just thinking about the damage done to the members of our society that should be the most protected. I am very sorry that people hurt you and I hope you find peace as an adult. My cancer actually started as a tumor on my uterus which would have been caught with an ultrasound years before it spread to my cervix and could have been seen on a nether region exam. I hope you have found a compassionate wonderful doctor who understands your situation and works with you to find alternate means of taking care of your day to day health and preventative measures, and if you haven’t please do keep trying.

  • what Jacqueline implied I am shocked that a mother can profit $8720 in 4 weeks on the internet. did you read this web page http://www.rev24.com

  • Taylor Swift? oh my.

  • I’ve always had females, but I don’t care as long as their attitudes are professional.

  • are you looking for one night stand, casual, sexpartner…etcGo To Link http://www.4hump.com

  • A women , but I’ve had man doctors do it before .

  • I want Tom Hardy to check my genitals.

Through the experience of two pregnancies and having to go to a clinic (where I was seen by several physicians instead of one primary one) since we were dirt poor at the time, I will say that the male gynecologists had a bit more decorum than the women gyno/obgyn’s. I almost punched a lady gynecologist in the face when I was very pregnant with my daughter. I’m not prone to violence but my hormones and her oh-so-bitchy superiority made me want to slug her. I don’t mind a male gynecologist at all depending on the man. Some are very professional while others give a too familiar vibe I don’t enjoy in someone who looks at my garden of eden.

  • I’d be more concerned about the doctor’s reputation.

  • some male doctors definitely derive some pride to perform that kind of examination on  women..i think men should be examined by men..genitals can be embarrassing for some reasons that are not easy to understand…

  • Female. Not that it should really matter.

  • I honestly don’t care, so long as they are DAMN good at their job.

  • I don’t like female doctors. All my doctors are male except for my Family Doctor and that is only because my male doctor got switched. Needless to say I was not happy about that. I had a female gynecologist once and she rushed through everything and I was not impressed. I like my male gynecologist though it’s a bit awkward cause his first name is the same as my dad and brother lol. Anyway, I’d prefer a male doctor over a female any day.

  • I’d rather a doctor check my genitals in a professional manner. If you’re still to the point where you’re caring what gender / race / nationality your doctor is, you’ve clearly never experienced a true health crisis. Some titles supercede the person holding it.

  • I don’t care.

I was in the military where I was stripped down and humbled.  I got used to a lot of people and a lot of strange doctors checking where the sun don’t shine.

A male doctor works.  A female doctor works.

  • I prefer female doctor but more often I prefers a quiet doctor no matter the gender, ]I find it really annoying to have someone chatting lightly and trying to be casual while checking on my vagina… a quiet one who keep its professional and straight, that would be my choice.

  • For me, the gender isn’t the final straw. So long as they’re respectable and don’t make things awkward, they’re fine by me. However, my preference is female. Not just because I’m female, but because being female, I feel she would have more insight into some questions about my body. My husband wouldn’t stand for me to have a male doctor, anyways. :) But yeah. I prefer female. :)

  • Makes no difference in my opinion. Whichever person has the highest recommendation, good bedside personality, listens attentively and has kidness and compassion is the doctor I see.

My primary physicians (internist and gyn) are men … their PA’s are women and I will see either.

  • My future boyfriend (My goal is to date / marry a urologist).

  • I don’t feel comfortable with either. At least with a male doctor, at least one of us could be potentially enjoying the awful thing that is a well woman exam.

  • Not bothered,    as long as their don’t give me a boner/

  • Doesn’t matter to me

  • As for the bottom exam,   as long as their are careful and do a professional job I fine with me.

  • It would have to be a blind doctor.
