  • Dangerous Sports

Before you look at the link, what sport would you think would be the most dangerous for high school and college women?

  • Justice

A woman was cheating on her husband.  He came home and caught her in the act.  He killed the man that was cheating with her.  She gets charged.  I got this issue from HEBCHILL.

Darrell Roberson, above, fired shots at the man his wife claimed had been raping her, hitting him in the head. A grand jury found the wife's false claims of rape made her liable for murder

Darrell Roberson arrived home one evening and caught his wife “rolling around” with another man in a truck in their driveway.  She realized that she was caught in the act so she yelled out that she was getting raped.  Darrell took out a gun and killed the other man by shooting him in the head.

A grand jury came back and didn’t charge him.  They didn’t hold him responsible for thinking he was protecting his wife.  The grand jury did charge her for manslaughter.  She faces two to twenty years in prison.  Here is the link:  Link

Do you think the woman deserves to spend time in prison for yelling out ”rape” in a moment of panic?

  • Popular Dead Celebrities

Last fall, Forbes announced a new leader in its “Top-Earning Dead Celebrities” list.

    Elvis

Every year since 2001, Elvis Presley has been the top of that list.  But Kurt Cobain passed him up when he earned $50 million between October 2005 and 2006.  Here is the link:  Link

Who is your favorite dead celebrity?

  • Panda Porn

A zoo is hoping that panda porn will put a panda in the mood.  (I got this link in my message box from Kayla10488).

    Photo

Chuang Chuang will be placed all day in front of a big screen TV showing other pandas mating.  The hope is that this will put the panda in the mood at mating time.  Here is the link:  Link

Do you think that panda porn will lead Chuang Chuang to have an unhealthy view of female panda bears?

  • Football Game

Imagine that you were playing a game of football with your dad on the Playstation 2.

Imagine your dad is competitive.  Imagine you are only 13.

Would you just let your dad win the game?

  • Chocolate Jesus

A chocolate sculpture of Jesus has angered some Catholics.  The sculpture is named “My Sweet Lord.”

Bill Donohue of the Catholic League has said “This is one of the worst assaults on Christian sensibilities ever.”  Jesus is sculpted without a loincloth and is anatomically correct.  Here is the link:  Link

    Is the Jesus sculpture offensive?

  • Spykes

A new alcholic beverage, “Spykes,” is being criticized for being marketed to kids.

    Image: Spykes

The beer is packaged in colorful and small bottles.  The price will be cheaper because of the smaller bottles.  The coordinator of the Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking, Judi Vining, said “It’s the perfect drink for a child.”  Here is the link:  Link

Does colorful and small packaging make the beer targeted toward underaged users?

  • The Power of Prayer

What is being called “the largest study of its kind,” a study tracked how prayer impacted the recovery rate of heart bypass surgery.  The research suggested that prayer had no impact on the recovery of heart bypass surgery patients.

The study suggested that patients that knew they were being prayed for had a higher risk of complication.  The study followed approximately 1,800 patients at six medical centers.

Dr. Harold G. Koenig, director of the Center for Spirituality, Theology and Health at the Duke University Medical Center didn’t believe the study proved anything.  He said science “is not designed to study the supernatural.”  Here is the link:  Link

    Can science study the supernatural?

  • What Brings Us Together?

When I look at my site, we look like such a mix lot.  I once went and read through some of my subscribers and realized that I have several subscribers with the numbers “666″ in their name.  I also have a bunch that somehow fit the words “Jesus Freak” in their name.  In other words, we are a mixed lot.

But someone messaged me recently with an observation.  The person said something like “Dan, I don’t know if you realize this but in your photoblog if you say something sarcastic people are more likely to say something sarcastic in their comments.”

I started to think about that and I had an observation of my own.  When I ran my “Best Commenter” contest, I tended to pick more people on the list that were sarcastic.

Now I know what brings us together.  We are white, black, mexican, gay, heteorsexual, transsexual (you know who you are), southern, northern, Asian, token Jew (Mr. DMV), religious, atheist, agnostic, Democrat, Republican, pro-life, pro-choice, environmentally sensitive, environmentally careless, conservative and liberal.

But we have one thing that brings us together.

    Are we all sarcastic?
