Too Fat to Model
Miss England Laura Coleman has been turned down for modeling jobs because she has grown to a size 10.
She says that modeling agencies are turning her down since she put on the extra weight. Here is the link: Link
I have noticed that in comments on my site that some women would rather be thin than have boobs. Some of them will even openly admit that when they see photos of extremely thin women that they wish that they looked like them.

Women were meant to have curves! I would definitely pick A! At one time, Marilyn Monroe was considered svelte…nowadays she would be considered too big to model. The one thing that needs to change is our attitudes towards the curves God gave us naturally–we weren’t meant to look like boys! I guess we have to give Twiggy a left-handed thank you for the Ethiopian starvation look that’s being shoved down our throats, all in the name of what’s “in vogue” currently.
By the way, ladies–even dogs prefer some meat on the bone!

I’d look horrible as a size 10. I’m only 5’3″ with a tiny frame. When I was a size 5 I looked chunky, so I can’t even imagine double that. B for the win… but then again, I do some modeling too, and A would not land me any jobs any time.

A doesn’t even match. She should be wearing all white, if she’s going for the pillow-look, and she should have ash hair to distract from the body, white-gold. She’s not obviously fat as in that’s her logo and pink is just asking to look like a cow if you aren’t a little girl and have a few extra. Short, stocky girls can wear pink because it’s cute, but not tall more mature, heavier girls. She looks like a walmart commercial. I think I’m evil. She should wear flashy material as well. Sorry, also, her eyes are so small that she needs to wear a thinner line.

I don’t mind being able to see some bones. She’s very thin, petite, & fit looking. The post asked us to choose between the two, & I think I’d rather look like picture B than A. I am not saying that I’d rather be picture B indefinitely, but rather that I prefer her overall body type.
I’d much rather look like the woman in the second picture than how I look right now, and honestly, I’m bigger than the woman in the first picture, & I don’t like it at all.

Sadly, so many of the of the girls saying ‘B’ are the ana-types, so it’s not at all surprising. I’m of the mindset that anyone who chooses B probably has body issues and can’t really discern what ‘healthy’ truly is. Our country focuses so much on obesity (and rightfuly so, since it is a huge epidemic) but we ignore all of the people suffering from the other end of the spectrum and all the ‘fat talk’ just encourages already thin girls to believe they need to be even more thin. At some point, you’ll just cease to exist (quite literally- anorexia will kill you at some point sooner then later, the same as obesity.)
That being said, A looks amazing in my opinion. She’s by no means ‘fat’- hell, she’s not even ‘thick’ or ‘chunky’.. she’s got a beautiful face, hips, boobs and an ass. Last time I checked, that was the way a woman was supposed to look. *shrug* Model B? I just feel bad for her… Someone said she looks angry- I would be too if I hadn’t eaten for a couple of weeks!

I would much rather be A but I feel like even then, that girl is not a typical size 10. That girl is definitely has the ability to take care of her body that is beyond most people. So either way, its kind of a tease and setting up women to have unrealistic expectations of their own bodies, because we all know we cant Photoshop our own bodies like they can!
PS I have a pretty nice body and am actually smaller than a size 10. But I hate the way that these pictures show no flaws. No cellulite, no scars, no bumps or bulges. I dont care how sexy or fit you are, no one is perfect! Its the imperfections that make us sexy

I think women of most body types can look smoking if they dress and act properly….meaning as if they like themselves and have a personality and express that personality in what they wear. The year after my former wife left, she gained about 50 pounds. That is something I had wanted her to do for two decades. Actually, I wanted her to gain a hundred pounds if possible. I was going to answer, but I think I prefer to just accept everyone for who they are. If someone turned down the other woman then “Shame on them!” Big, Small, Fat, Tall, Short, Whatever! – there is space on this earth for everyone.
Surveys show EVERYONE prefers A. Its just the fashion designers / industry who prefer B as they think their clothes look better on thinner models. Governments have started regulating the trend for thin in Europe. In Spain, Madrid city council banned models with a body mass index under 18. Things are changing.

A, definitely. B looks anorexic and has virtually no breasts. People might think I’m weird, but I pride myself on my chest, and it’s not surgically enhanced, either. I’ve been a size 10 myself at some points in my life, and it’s by no means fat. Of course, it all depends on your height and body build, but that’s just getting technical. I mean a size 10 isn’t fat on your average height American woman. I sometimes get down because I think I have a big butt with cellulite, but my bf thinks my little dimples are cute, and it’s not as if I’m heavy or short- I freely admit to being about 5’7″ and around 129 lbs. I think I have a pretty good hourglass going on.

That’s the thing, we’re constantly forced to measure ourselves according to the world’s standards. When are people going to accept that each person’s body is different, each body is unique. Not only with regards to build, but also to biomechanics and your body’s chemical reaction.
i think it’s best to be healthy and fit – no matter what you weigh.

I think the reason so many people want skinny models is because shoots tend to have that exaggerated, surreal tone to them in order to get the product to sell, so they want surreal, pixie-like girls.

I would gladly put on a few more pounds if it meant I could have boobs. Unfortunately, that is not usually what happens when I put on a few more pounds. Unless I am pregnant. Then I get boobs, fat ass, the whole nine yards. It’s the best of all possible worlds. Except for pregnant part.

I’ve read through all the comments since I last commented, & I’m really tired of all of this talk of woman A being a “real” woman & implying that woman B isn’t a “real” woman.
Um…she’s certainly not a FAKE woman, now, is she? She’s a woman too—she just isn’t curvy, & there’s nothing wrong with not having any curves. I find curves to be overrated. I’m tired of hearing about them, personally.
Some women are just naturally petite & don’t ever grow into any curves, so do you think that they’re not “real” women either? Your logic kind of implies that you think that way…even if a woman naturally has no curves. Now, I’m not calling woman B naturally thin because she most likely isn’t, so I don’t want anyone on my case for that either.

During the competition for Miss England, she was saying that she “hated the modeling industry” and she “would much rather be a beauty queen any day than a model” She used her bad experiences in the industry to win public votes. Once she won in she was quoted as saying she “Hopes her new title will help her have a successful modeling career” Shes a hypocrite. She completely slated the industry to win the title, so i’m not surprised agencies are turning her away. She gave the industry a bad name…and now shes trying to be a be a part of the industry. Like i said…HYPOCRITE.

“B” is a poor photo of someone of that weight. Proportions are everything. “A” has great proportions but yes much more voluptuous, not a bad thing–more personal preference. I prefer “B” with about ten more pounds and a different face. Society rules, self esteem drools. .
