  • Homosexuality is a Sin

I was so relieved to see that the California Supreme Court sided with the Bible on the issue of homosexuality.  Here is the link:  Link

The Bible tells us that being gay is a sin:

Lev. 18:22, “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.”

Lev. 20:13, “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them”

1 Cor. 6:9-10, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

I just hope we continue to follow God’s will as a nation.

  • AMERICA IS GOD’S COUNTRY. BELIEVERS GET OUT!!!

  • first comment :)

  • Time on Xanga has changed your heart, Dan?

  • This is outrageous. I am outraged.
I hope Xanga takes down this offensive post!

  • It’s a good thing I’m queer in Canada! :D

  • Lol…I’m not sure where I stand on this issue. I really don’t care because it doesn’t affect me, I guess.

I’m a conservative, but I do think you are born gay. I don’t think it’s a choice…therefore I don’t really believe the what the Bible says about that. Why would God make gay people and then condemn them?

  • I hope you’re being sarcastic. :)

  • America isn’t following God’s will until it stones the abominable ones.

Stone! Stone! Stone! Is anyone else as jazzed as I am?!

Are people’s sarcasm detectors working today? -_O Just checking.

  • When will people realize your posts are sarcastic? RaVnR is freaking out all the time.

  • That is fucking pathetic. This is why religion poisons the nation. We need to get religion out of the government. Period. End of story. Religion should be a private matter.

By the way, it was largely the doing of Catholics and Mormons who illegally donated money to and lobbied for Prop 8, and as such, they should lose their tax-exempt status per violations of their 501(c)3 contract.

  • Shit, meet the fan.

  • @HumanTouches - no, people are stupid. lol.

  • I don’t have anything to say about this post except that the ad at bottom is soliciting me for gay sex. It seems a bit ironic.

  • @polishswede - RaVnR is in on the joke, and being sarcastic herself. But thanks for missing that!

  • Heh . . .heh… hmmmm

  • If this gets top blogs, I’m rating it ex! CENSORSHIP RULES!

  • I agree with homosexuality being a sin… but… I don’t know anymore. People can be really scary when it comes to this topic. All I know is I’m friends with some of them and they’re nice people. XD

  • Yea I hope you’re being sarcastic too. I sense that you are bored, Dan. Trying to stir up some controversy!

  • @ModernBunny - Love how I got picked on and you didn’t!! lol

  • you are something alright.

  • If I wasn’t so busy having illegal gay sex I’d be morally outraged at you, Dan!

  • @DrugInducedDuck - *high five* Pass the pancakes.

  • @logicalemu - ha! Hurray for us Canadians.

  • @RaVnR - That’s because I was first. Being first gives me special privileges.

  • THANK YOU FOR STANDING UP FOR THE TRUE AMERICAN STANDARDS
You are a gentleman and a scholar.
In other news, I have an itch for lots of anal sex. I’m not sure why.

  • And this is why Dan has succeeded at being the most popular (loved or hated) xangalebrity of all time.

Oh, the controversy!  Drama, drama, drama!

  • Wow, now I’m confused because I can’t figure out if this is sarcastic or not.

  • Dan is back! =D

    (I hope)

  • I find it funny how both sides think they’re being morally correct. If it’s not one jihad it’s another, eh?

  • i just happen to think that the people who wrote the bible just wrote down stuff they didn’t like and condemned it. plus they probably were ugly and couldn’t get a hot gay man so they were like “screw you. homo is sin!!!” lol!!

  • Something tells me this one is NOT sarcasm.

  • All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, so does it really matter? Who can stand up and say, I’ve never had gay thoughts, or I’ve never enjoyed watching two women have sex? Liars, that’s who.

    How’s that for sarcasm!

  • I am hoping you’re being a smartass sarcastic person right now…really hoping.

  • And soon we can start stoning women for being around us during their period! Hell, we can just start stoning people PERIOD!

    Huzzah for following the Lord!

  • i love Jesus and i don’t think it matters one way or another whether gay marriage/abortion/etc are legal in our country. forcing people to behave like Christians whether or not they believe in God isn’t what the gospel’s about. i don’t think it’s up to our nation to follow God. i think that’s something that each individual needs to decide on.

also, i’m with a few of the above commentors. i definately smell sarcasm here. but i wanted to throw in my two cents anyway.

    :)

  • I sure hope your fucking kidding

  • gosh those rings are ugly.

  • The first two quotes don’t matter, anyway, because it’s impossible to lie with a man as one lies with a female, because men don’t have vaginas. That’s science!

  • As a nation? As a nation we are free to believe in whichever god we want, Dan.

  • Wow.  2 minutes ago there were only 17 comments.  Now there are 44.

He knows what he’s doing, alright.  And he’s back with a venegence!

  • Lol I’m so out.  I’m sure liking sex and drinking alcohol puts me in a bad category.  Such is the life of the socially accepted.

  • I thought the church/Bible teaches that it’s the homosexual act that’s wrong, not the homosexual him/herself.  Hate the sin, but love the sinner.  So i disagree with your claim in this post.

  • I see that people still don’t understand your sarcasm.  Tsk tsk tsk..

  • @RaVnR - I hate you

I was going to say that

  • Jesus was gay. Peter and him had it out numerous times.

Also the reason why god is so angry when it comes to homosexuality.

Just like Cheney and his daughter.

  • @haloed - How do you know when he’s being sarcastic and when he’s not?

  • @ShamrockLover - You talk to him and get to know him.  I will be seriously astonished if he’s serious.  Dan isn’t really a “force one thing on people” kind of guy, while he does have his own beliefs.

  • I love how a lot of people miss the sarcasm and don’t get the whole tie-in with censorship.

    Point well-made, Dan.

You are a bulwark for our First Amendment rights!

  • LOL seriously?! Whatever happened to seperation of Church and state? It only makes since for the Churchs to ban gay marriage. If Christians don’t like gay marriage, then DON’T MARRY THEM. However, if a gay couple wants to marry at a court house, outside, or wherever the f*ck they wanna get married (besides the church), then THEY SHOULD. Get a dictionary. Look up the word discrimination. Tell me how this is NOT discrimination! THIS IS NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION. This is a atheist, jewish, muslim nation.

  • Haha I think you’re being sarcastic.

If not, the Bible does say lots of absurd things. We pick and choose.

  • Sniff, sniff . . . I smell ze controversy, it eez a-coming.

  • Seriously? I hope others are right on here and ur being sarcastic…

  • Enough is enough! I am unsubscribing!

  • if religion should be aside from government and should be a private matter, so should what you do behind the closed doors of your bedroom.

“GAY RIGHTS!!!!!” wtf? who the eff cares? really? “oooo my gosh, they’re gaaaayy….” and I caaareee why??? what RIGHTS do you need? marriage?

“SO AND SO IS GAY!” “SO AND SO ADMITS NOTHING ABSOLUTE, BUT DOES ADMIT TO HAVING SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH SAME SEX” and the crowd is SHOCKED.
wow. that is what we care to know about? this is what it has come to?
i don’t give a flying eff if you’re gay. and neither should the government, and it shouldn’t have to recognize it. that’s your business.

“gay people should be allowed to marry!!!!!!!!!!”
    dude. no.
why change a law because you like to sleep around with the same sex? you’re just making a lot of noise, frustration, and problems.
live together, have children… however you plan on doing that… and prosper. just like the rest of us. we make do. the government is not encroaching on your right to life, saying “kill the gay people.” nor is it stopping you from enjoying sex with your “partner.” and it certainly isn’t taking away your freedom to express it. when laws are ACTUALLY, physically (NOT emotionally) encroaching upon this, THEN there is a problem.
who says you need a legal piece of crap paper that says “your married”? people walk around every day, I’m a christian, I’m mormon, I’m this i’m that, you are MORE than free to say we are “one together, partners forever.” Why do you have to be “recognized” by the government. if you choose to live OUTside the law, then you have to make do with that. not the entire country. legal marriage is between A (singular) man and woman. that’s the law. deal with it in your own way. why do you depend so much on your government??? this country is WHIPPED!

the “nation” and “people” shouldn’t have to accept and accommodate you for your sexual preferences. just like it shouldn’t have to “accept” and accommodate for other religions and races and cultures. we TOLERATE. which means, sleep with who you want, believe in what you want, put up temples, and have parades! the government won’t shoot you or put you in jail for it.
but when you are making it cross the lines into government…. ummm who’s your daddy?
you’re in america. this is how it is. don’t like it? MOVE. why do people CARE SO MUCH if they’re accepted or not. i shouldn’t be called a homophobe, or a bigot, hater, or prejudice just because i don’t accept certain things. hi. individual. nice to meet you. we’re different.
and for the record, i’m not any of those things. my best friend, brides maid of honor to be, practically sister, is a lesbian. i love her to death. she actually agrees with me. being gay is no big thing, and making a huge stink, causing all these problems, is just ridiculous and childish. own up to being gay is what she tells me. “that’s right, outside the marriage law, hell yeah, i choose it!”
her identity is her own. and i’m proud of her for it. it doesn’t depend on the government.

got names for me? i don’t care. why? cause my identity is not in your hands, nor the governments.

  • So I guess nobodys allowed to be happy anymore. I get it- no more gay marriage. No more happy marriage. But, tell me, whenever was marriage a happy thing?

Oh, you mean homosexuality? Hahaa. Yeah, I think we should just ban marriage altogether- why should the homosexuals be so lucky? Ban heterosexual marriage too! Come on! You’ll thank me for this later on! >=D

  • hmm….can you not take ANYTHING seriously? lol

    @grammarboy - haha….i LOL’ed at that….

  • and SO what if Dan is actually serious or not.
    you REALLY care THAT much???

omg Dan I unsubscribing because you don’t accept gay marriages!

that’s pathetic. you all are mindless chickens un-accepting of….. disagreement?! God no! not that!

  • “I was so relieved to see that..”  ?

  • It’s not a sin to be gay. Just to act gay.

  • See, now, if you were being serious (rather than sarcastic, as I suspect this has to do with the censorship post), I would respect you for stating your beliefs so calmly and inoffensively.

  • Goodness, is that the heady scent of sarcasm I I smell?

  • @ShamrockLover - Does anyone ever read the articles to which Dan provides the links?

  • @conphettirainphall - I skim the articles that he provide links for ’cause most of the time it’s hella long. :X

  • You’re on a roll.

  • @kristentsuii - I usually do, too, but when you read (or skim) an article, you can get a feel for the writer’s stance on the subject at hand. In this case, the writer was obviously for gay marriage, so why would Dan post an article that is for gay marriage when he’s presumably taking the stand of being against gay marriage? I’m sure there were plenty of anti-gay articles to choose from… You catch my drift? Hahah.

  • @conphettirainphall -  Ahh…you make an interesting point.  I don’t always look at the link and read the article….i think i’ll start

  • @suggestivetongue - because it’s wonderful…

  • The add below this should be everyone’s first clue.
=..= I’m glad I noticed before I shook my finger at you.

  • On a serious note, America is so far from God’s will, what difference does this make? :P On a less serious note, as a Christian myself, the gay issue is last thing on my mind.

  • There are numerous things that are in the bible that are sins and legal, among them gambling. I find it interesting that Christianity and many churches are against something until they realize it can make them money. Gambling is bad unless its bingo or casino night at the church in which case its fine.

There is also the bigger issue of marriage. Divorce is legal and the biggest downfall of marriage, yet Christians fail to mention it. Ever. Also originally marriage was not a sacrament but instead a property exchange. Yes, that’s right, men would trade their land or live stock to marry another man’s daughter. Also, there was a time when plural wives was ok, hell it even said so in the bible. Furthermore, people used to not be able to marry outside of their income class. Or their race. Marriage has been defined in many different ways over the years. To say that some bullshit bible is the end all to how we define marriage is absurd.

Than again, the bible has always been the biggest scam ever perpetrated among man.

  • Wait wait wait, back up to the part where fornicators are going to hell to! That is not cool! Hahaha. They must have covered that one the week I skipped church to be a heathen.

P.S. I have the Gay Singles ad right now too. LOLZ!

  • I’m glad I’m not raising kids now.  Our country is a mess.  This isn’t a high priority issue.  We are now being governed by the minority.

  • @charisalexandra - Not first. :(

The Bible, at least, is very clear. That’s more than you can say for the laws of this country. Hence mess, and hence why we’ve been able to adapt them for so long.

  • Shouldn’t California be worrying about their money problems? Nope… let’s wait to get bail out money.

  • I think lots of us hope your being sarcastic…

  • @bloodbreath - …I’m fairly certain he doesn’t hand-pick the ads that go on his page.

  • Jesus is my homeboy. Now… to get drunk in celebration…

  • we should just live it up b/c pretty much nobody is going to inherit the Kingdom of God.

  • Swift?  that you?

  • @conphettirainphall - Guess it was just ironic then. Though, I refreshed many times, and even when it’s a different add than the one I first saw they’re all for GAY people. ^-^ Tooootal irony. With enough knowlege of html or whatever you could—ah, whatever it doesn’t matter. *shrug*

  • It’s funny when people use bible verses for this and leave out the one from I Samual where David says to Jonathan something along the lines of “your love for me is greater than that of any woman.” HELLO. *cough cough* I mean, sure it’s open for translation, but have you READ that story?
    >>

  • Wat ever floats ur boat gay people are the classiest people i know not 2 mention they have awesome fashion sense

  • stirring the pot again, are you?

  • @grammarboy - I was just about to comment on the same thing. At mate1.com, anyone can find their “sexy, gay companion!” …irony at its finest.

  • Oh, for Pete’s sake! I hope you are seriously joking here.

We all can follow our creator and still be respectful of others and their own choices and without ever having to be cruel or unfair. I mean, it’s not like YOU have to marry them or live with them in their home or bedroom. And marriages don’t happen just because of a contract or to just procreate. It’s LOVE that truly unites a couple together, no matter what race or gender. We are not GOD. Who are we to even judge or play GOD? Nothing good can come from being all high and mighty when throwing stones can break glass houses.

  • um really? what ever happened to the seperation of church and state??…not everyones a christian bud. and how is two gay people getting married affecting your life in any way. marriage should be based on the love and sanctamony of two individuals regardless of their gender. gay couples should be able to reap the same benefits of straight couples. love is love. im highly dissapointed in you good sir. but i do respect your opinion.

  • I believe these kinds of issues should be decided by each individual state, not the federal government, and the decision mad by the court today confirmed my beliefs.

  • @colormethespian - Hahaha, yeah, exactly.

  • everyone deserves to be loved, Dan =] no guy can complain about two supermodels in porno so seeing them as a married couple shouldn’t be any less different.

  • @polishswede - I’m a conservative, but I do think you are
    born gay. I don’t think it’s a choice…therefore I don’t really
believe the what the Bible says about that. Why would God make gay
    people and then condemn them?

I feel the same exact way!

  • If people want to marry, regardless of their sexual preference, should be allowed to do so.  By us letting religion delve into politics, then that makes us no better than the muslim ruled countries that we are trying to force into democracy.

  • God should love all, even if they ARE gay or not ]: …

this topic just depresses me really.

  • it’s about time you unabashedly laid out the truth clear and plain! kudos, Dan.

  • @MsMuffinBuns - He does love all – it’s sin that He hates.

  • @duckie_iz_me - if the guy has a shred of decency then yes he can complain about such.

  • @bloodbreath - I’ve never read that. Care to provide the location of that text?
I even tried searching for it, and the closest thing I came up with was 1 Sam. 20:17, which says: “And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.”
Let us also be aware that there are multiple types of love, as evidenced by the multiple Greek words that are translated into English as “love”: agape, eros, phileo, and I think there’s one more that I’m missing.

  • @Lost_In_Reverie - I missed your point (in the main part of your comment, not the PS). So God condemns fornication – what about it?

  • @HumanTouches - Are you aware of the solid argument that can be made to show that we are no longer under the Old Law at all?

  • Btw – I don’t really care whether Dan’s post was actually sarcasm or not; I had points to make. Just so you know, and don’t go off on me saying “omg you so didn’t get it!” or anything like that.

  • @webhead345 - Yes, and isn’t it convenient that Christians get to pretend that the OT doesn’t pertain to them at all, even as it stares them in the face.

GOD AT ONE TIME: I am a holy god and declare that blood shall be on the heads of sinners!

GOD LATER: Never mind, I killed my own son instead, I consider myself appeased.

If you’re going to claim that OT law is not a problem for us anymore, then please don’t ever quote it.

  • totally disagree. i think even god understands that if someone’s gay, its not their fault

  • i didnt sense the sarcasm at first and was like WHAT THE FUKC HELL NO.

  • @polishswede - On the other hand, why would he call something an abomination if people don’t have a choice?

  • Shocking but to me it is a sin also.

  • i dont have a good feeling about this.

  • Next let’s outlaw divorce.  And then greed.  I like where this is going.

  • I love how to the right of this post there is an advertisement about meeting Gay Singles in your area with a topless man!!!!

  • LOL.
I love how peoples perogative in life is to prove to everyone else that Dan is just joking around.. LOL who cares!! He is posting stuff like this to get a rise out of people, I dont think he needs you to defend his point.

  • im hoping this is sarcasm if so kudos!

  • There should also be laws prohibiting the eating of shellfish, and prohibiting the shaving of one’s head, among many other things in Leviticus and  the OT in general.

  • Ugh, i was so upset to hear this. We are trying to move forward and here we are taking steps back.
It’ll be ok, Dan. You’ll be able to marry Elton soon.

  • Its a good thing that I live in gay marriage having Iowa then… I could get into the inaccuracies of the bible but its a little early for that…

  • Oh Dan this is how you weed out the sensitive, the not-very-perceptive, and the flat out dumb subscribers isn’t it? And of course the new ones who didn’t get a chance to learn your blogging ways, I suppose.

  • @MySecretLoveAffair - i agree!   i find it quite interesting how when you point something like this a great deal of commenters automatically assume he’s being sarcastic.  i wonder how they’d truly feel if he wasn’t.  The world may never know.

  • @abilene_piper_lg - Re: your comment about the Mormons and Catholics: Are you not aware that the largest group of people who voted to support Prop 8 were not the evangelicals, Catholics or Mormons? It was, in fact, blacks.

  • @SecretNeverTold - Doesn’t matter. I don’t think it would have made one way or the other. The fact remains that they poured money in and lobbied, and violated their 501(c)3 status, and should be punished for doing so.

  • @abilene_piper_lg - Even though I may disagree with their position, I think it’s hypocritical and bigoted to say a thing like that. You’re a) ignoring the plethora of services they provide to countless people, and b) ignoring the fact that apparently they do represent the views of 54% of Californians.

  • The real “sin” in this world is killing.- Unicorn.

  • @SecretNeverTold -  Of course, I, as a lapsed Latter-day Saint, do feel a high degree of animosity toward that church. I can’t believe I believed in their bullshit for 20 years. And I can’t believe they, who supposedly believe in “free agency,” would work to limit the free agency of men, when they themselves believe in free agency. Isn’t that a bit hypocritical?

  • @I_Am_Serious_Unicorn- The real one is hate.

  • @bloodbreath - Actually, I think what the interwebz does is takes key words from whatever you talked about in the post and put an ad related to those key words on your page. I once mentioned Jesus in one of mine and for a week, I had an ad about Christianity on my page.

  • @abilene_piper_lg - I’m not sure what “free agency” means, but if by that you mean free will, giving people more information/more to think about is anything but criminal. Causing people to think is one thing many in this country don’t do enough of. It is not hypocritical to want to help people make informed decisions. Knowledge = freedom, right? The more you know, the MORE free you are to make a decision that means something to you.

But I do understand your resentment and I’m not hating. : ) I just wish other people would stop hating. The vitriol that’s been spewed at Catholics and Mormons (and Christians in general) in the last 24 hours via Twitter and Xanga has been nauseating.

  • @SecretNeverTold - When the Mormon Church refers to “free agency,” they mean the right of human beings to live as they choose. They recognize this as a fundamental right of humans, however, they turn around and try to pass laws that restrict the free agency of human beings. This is where I call them out on their hypocrisy. Does that make sense?

  • @SecretNeverTold - Re: your [abilene_piper_lg's] comment about the Mormons and Catholics: Are you not aware that the largest group of people who voted to support Prop 8 were not the evangelicals, Catholics or Mormons? It was, in fact, blacks

Blacks– as a subset of practicing Christians.

  • I seriously hope you’re being sarcastic.

  • well….stirring up controversy is obvious….but how do you really feel about it?

  • Yes, homosexuality is a sin, but you know what?  So is lying, cheating, gossiping, breaking the sabbath, sex of any kind outside of marriage, speaking ill of one another, and so on.  This doesn’t even include all the sins of omission that we all do as well.  We’re supposed to be loving and kind to ALL men regardless of their sins, love our enemies and do good to those who revile us.  It’s not up to us to judge.  We don’t have to accept what people do, or agree with them; we’re just supposed to be patient and long-suffering towards them, and help them see the error of their ways.  How was that?

  • *sigh*

I guess I’ll have to put my wedding plans aside…again.

Is it too much to ask to just let me freaking get married? I’m a Quaker, and many Quakers hold religious wedding ceremonies for gays. I mean, come on, if some religions allow gay marriage, then isn’t banning gay marriage limiting our right to freedom of religion?

  • @conphettirainphall - Ah, well, feeling stupid. I recan’t! My original post, that is. :)

  • u gotta be shitting me dan…. i think u just lost a shit load of respect from me….

  • The bible says a lot of crazy things. Great read, great read.

  • @webhead345 - I hated going into that without an actual verse reference; I know the one you’re referring to and that isn’t the one. I know there’s a lot of ways that “love” can be translated but I also think a lot of people would be super unhappy if we got the undiluted, original translation. Seriously, after thousands of years and re translations and censoring I’m sure just a little bit got…smudged.)

Anyway, I’ll let you know as soon as I find the verse!

  • Oi! At this point I have no idea if this is sarcasm or not. It makes me feel all…
    >>
    <<
    Insecure.

But, anyway, Mr. Dan…if that is your opinion, that’s ok. It’s our right to choose what we believe. As long as you don’t try to force your opinion on people or get all hateful about it, you don’t deserve the hudreds of unpleasant remarks that usually come with a blog like this. But you know that already, I’m sure.

I wish someone [I] had just left it at that when it came to the_lovliest_tragedy. What an ugly thing that turned out to be.

    Peace.

  • @MsMuffinBuns - He loves the people just not the homosexuality.@carpe_diem99 - Yeah, it is their fault….God didn’rt create gays; the devil did. He knew that if you believed you were gay people would torture and ridcule you and try to get to you to kill yourself. Thats what the devil wants. He wants people to committ suicide.

  • Dan, its time for you to rewrite this post.  People are getting offended by this!!!

  • @CelestialTeapot - You assume that, but no poll analyst has concluded it. It is possible for people to be attached to traditional marriage even if they are not practicing or even professing Christians.

  • To each their own, but… Why do you (and other Christians) care so much? Homosexual marriage will not affect your lives in any way, so why deny the natural freedoms of a group of people just because of what some outdated book says?

Unless this was a sarcastic post (which it probably is), in which case none of this is directed towards you.

  • Hopefully, you’re just being sarcastic here. LOL :P

  • Yay! I am glad they made the right choice too!

  • @SecretNeverTold - You assume that, but no poll analyst has concluded it.

You’re right, for all I know, Calfiornian African Americans who voted against Prop 8 could have been Hindu.

It is possible for people to be attached to traditional marriage even if they are not practicing or even professing Christians.

True, but a disppropotionate amount of devout Christians seem to have voted for Prop8.

  • I, too, want to believe you’re being sarcastic. I don’t go for what people prefer, nor do I enjoy judging. I think if you want to know someone, know them by their actions, not by their way of thinking…

  • @CelestialTeapot - True, but a disppropotionate amount of devout Christians seem to have voted for Prop8.

I’m not sure what you mean by disproportionate, but a large percentage of them did support Proposition 8. If you look at percentages of people who are not professing/practicing Christians, however, a large percentage of those also voted for it.

  • LOL AT THE GUY THAT SAID “GOOD THING IM A QUEER IN CANADA”

Since I live in Canada too, and we support gay marriage – ( I WAS EVEN IN THE GAY PRIDE PARADE )-  I was volunteering for the event btw

I dont see what the big deal is

JUST LET THEM BE – as long as they’re not effecting YOUR life
I dont get why people have to be so heated over these topics

I’m not religious nor am i homosexual*
F* WHAT THE BIBLE SAY I DONT BELIEVE IN IT

I dont see why gay marriages are concerns of other people
    YOU’RE NOT MARRYING THEM

  • I can’t see anything sarcastic about what God says is sinful.

  • sigh……just passing through…. too weary for battle today… Did someone dare you to offend all the sensitive groups one by one?

  • @the_loveliest_tragedy - i’m sorry but that makes absolutely no sense to me. people are gay not because the “devil” wanted to punish them. it’s because they have a genetic issue that they were born with. i totally support gay people cuz i really dont think it’s their fault. noone can control their feelings. if u want gay people out of this world you’re only supporting the “devil”

  • I wish it is wants so….I love so many gays folks….its so hard.

  • Technically, the Leviticus passages are only condemning bisexuality. Because what gay man lies with a woman the way he lies with a man?

  • I’m taking to the streets to fornicate with other women.

  • Luckily i dont live in Amercia, so i dont have to murder anyone. Lucky lucky lucky lucky me

  • pssshh ur the worst excuse for a christian that ive ever heard…

i think its time u stop posting your bullshit on xanga and let people live the way they wanna live…

  • Look out Dan the cencorship cops may be looking.  Have a great day and I totally enjoy coming here because you give me things to think about and bring things ot my attention that I was not even aware of before.

I shall now go back to my sofa in the corner.

  • Sigh.

@polishswede - When will people realize RavnR is sarcastic? Polishswede (seriously?) is freaking out all the time.

  • @HumanTouches - ah, but just because we’re not *under* the old law doesn’t mean we can’t derive useful principles from it or learn about God’s character in it.
Romans 15:4 reads, “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

  • this is a dopey post.  what does it even mean?  YOU can follow whoever you want.  but what role does the american GOVERNMENT have in COERCING SUBMISSION?  it is God who gives choice – to follow or disobey.  how dare you seek to remove that choice?

it’s also a dopey post because, as you will take note, there are no laws against the fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, covetous, drunkards, revilers.  if you want to protect marriage, you people should be seeking laws against INFIDELITY dontcha think?  but you don’t.  you pick on the minority.  cuz compared to the other people on that list, they’re easy pickins.

    not very charitable or loving.

what part of “LIVE AND LET LIVE” don’t you understand?

    jin

  • First one person is sarcastic, then the responses are and then the responses to the responses are sarcastic but sometimes the original responses weren’t sarcastic to begin with, and now I’m confused :(

  • *sigh*

Sadly, there are too many (more than 0, lol) that truly believe that. I’m all people believing in whatever they’d like… but when you take away rights of other people for the sake of it… well then, damnit, we’re gun fight!

And there are plenty of other things in the bible that people choose to ignore. You can’t pick and choose, damnit!

    URGH!… *takes deep breathes*

  • Ha, I get it.

  • you’re stupid.

I hate it when people quote the bible.

  • the bible also says you can’t eat seafood.

and it contradicts itself like every other story.

plus it was passed down by word of mouth.

quite the credible source, i’d say.

  • I hope this is a sarcastic post.

If not, then just keep in mind – not all people in the US are Christian, not all believe in the same God. Also, just tp play devil’s advocate here some more, keep in mind that the bible wasn’t written by God. It is a man-made document, written many, many years after Christ lived, with all of man’s agenda’s and opinions speaking for God’s.

Just a little something to ponder ;)

  • The Bible also says woe be to lawyers  But we never hear about that one. Its in the New Testament.

    Its Luke 11:46-52.

  • this is bullshit, what’s with people and bible, an’t u able to live with urself and now ur running to the bible, half of us even preachers don’t fully understnd bible, let alone apply it, everyone just interpret it their own way and throw stones at others, trust me u will be really shocked when we see God and he tells us we sined for doing some things in the bible we thought was right, number one bible is old, number two it was written in another language and intepretation or transition to another langauge can never ever mean the same, so if ur scared or afraid of everything or somethings or how the world is changing, carry the bible and go live in a cafe or something but never u use the bible as evidence to throw stones cuz dat will be so wrong.

  • @RaVnR - I love that comment!

  • Why is it that the ones for it, are the ones looked down upon?
Why can’t everyone just mind their own business and be happy amongst themselves, and with their opinions.

    Go Lakers!

  • I don’t know what amuses me more – the post, or that there’s an ad for “meet gay singles in your area!” right underneath it.

  • The government has no Constitutional basis for regulating *any* marriage, homosexual or heterosexual.

  • so drunks and single un wed parents and every person who has sex while not married is not going to heaven? it also says I should be puit to death for having sex outside of marriage. So I guess if you want to think this way go to Saudi you would fit right in. God also says every sin is the same in his eyes liars and murders are both the same to God.

  • If religion is so terrible, why do gays & lesbians want to claim one of our most sacred rites — holy matrimony?  Since most of the gays & lesbians are not churchgoers, why do they want to take part in a religious ceremony?  Maybe they should come up with their own ceremony (remember unions?).  Leave marriage alone.  It doesn’t belong to you.

  • And the Google Ad that showed up on this page?

“Find sexy gay singles in your area”

  • I really like sarcastic gay bashers.

They’re my favourite people in this world.

  • Its really frustrating me that everyone else is getting this, ‘Meet Gay Singles’ ad, except for me.

  • I don’t know, but that guy in the gay singles ad is pretty dang amazing looking.

  • Really? You’re glad that the courts ruled with the bible? Have you forgotten that this is AMERICA and there is a sepration of CHURCH AND STATE? If you can’t understand that then I’ll explain it for you. It means that American laws arn’t based on the bible. Period. We don’t teach creationism in the classroom. Period. We don’t advocate prayer or display religious pictures/documents in any government building. Period. And this is a GREAT thing. In the long run, it will prevent poor brainwashed idiots like you from letting your insane religious ideas take over the country. Some states have already relized that religion isn’t a way to make laws, that people can love each other regardless of their sex, and that no one has the right to decide for them. Hopefully every state will rule this way soon.

  • The Bible also says it is not our place to judge others and that every sin is equal. Hmm, I sense some hypocracy here?

  • Is this a serious entry?

  • the First Amendment of the United States states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”. looks like they can’t get that through theire obnoxiously stupid head. we all have a right to be happy. the government can not tell us who we can and can’t marry based on religious views

love sees no boundaries; people make them

  • Everyone sins.
Anyone who says they don’t is a dishonest hypocrite.
A book shouldn’t control the way people live their lives. Everyone has the potential to be a good person whether they’re religious or not.

  • this is amazingly offensive. i am gay and i am sick and tired of people like you

please let me make a few points:

1: if i’m gay, will you go to hell?

2: homosexuality is caused by a mutation in the brain. there is a part of the brain that determines who you like, and homosexuality is caused when that part of the brain is the wrong size (big = likes girls, small = likes boys)

3:why do you follow the bible so devoutly? did you SEE god/jesus write it? it could have been written by some facist windbag 1000 years ago who got lucky and had his ideas spread around the world.

please consider my thoughts. thank you for your time

  • Amen. I completely agree.

  • I wonder why people’s sexual preference is even a political issue, esp. in America. That should be a personal matter.

  • Sarcasm or not, it’s good that an opinion is shared on Xanga.

  • Doesn’t it also say somewhere in Leviticus that you can sell your daughters into slavery too?

  • I smell troll…

also, at least on my pc, adsense chose “find sexy gay males” as an appropriate ad for this post. Hilarious.

  • Do you really think this nation is following God’s will?  Or is it just more likely that those “against” God are just beginning to catch up?

  • @SirNickDon - I like you.

  • @follow_home - I agree with you 99% Very Much. The Thought that I throw in is my doubts on our country not following Him as a “Whole” if you get my drift. History is full of what  Blessed countries following God look like & the ones who don’t. My jury is not out, I just wanted to share my doubts on the country thing. :) Kris

  • see, if I thought this was real, I’d have to kill you for intolerance.

  • You know America was founded on freedom of religion and freedom of beliefs so anyone who says that god says what can shove it cause in my religion all creatures are welcome. Bi, guy, or whatever we are all created equal and should all have the same rights. All of us out there who are not straight did not do anything wrong. Your bible is not my bible so who says that yours is right over anyone else. Besides, even in your bible it says do not pass judgment it is for god to do so. So when you criticize people for there sexual tastes you are passing judgment. Now who’s sinning.

  • there are so many different beliefs/religions  yet so many Christians think their way is the only way… they talk like they’re so godly and follow the way of the lord, yet they pass judgment and are unkind to people who are homosexual, hypocrites… i suggest they worry about themselves… whether Tim and Joe get married really isn’t any of your business. I’m so sick of prejudice Christians and religious people, they’re the sole reason i wont step into a church.

  • Just don’t be eatin’ none of that abominable shellfish, ‘neither.

  • I’ve never read the bible before (on the account that I don’t have a religion). But those excerpts scare the shit out of me. Is that really what the followers of God believe in?

  • Urg. this is so stupid.

  • i noticed some of the comments took this offensively and one other comment mentioned that people don’t realize you are joking. well it sure sounds serious to me. there is no hint of sarcasm in this whatsoever [even if this is via internet only]

    just pointing this out for those who cant tell ’cause heck i cant tell. O.o;

  • @enoughcryiing - I was calm and I remain calm.  Haha.  I still don’t think it’s sarcasm.

  • This is so terribly offensive to gays, Dan, how dare you.

  • you are a douche-bag

    fuck you
    god said to love one-another
    read the bible dumbass
    “love thy neighbor”

  • I agree with this post 100%
yes God does say to love one another… i believe there is a thing called tough love.
and we call it hate the sin, love the sinner,

and yes there are alot of other religions.
look at the laws for other religions.
show me how many other of hte “gods” have defeated death.
tell me how many “great teacheres” filled over 300 prohesies

  • …not sure if this is scrcasim or not.

    BUT-

Did you know that way back when the Bible was used to defend slavery?

Also- those who study the Bible suspect that these passages refer more to older men who carried on sexual relations with younger boys.

*sigh* Whatever happened to the seperation of Church and State?

  • Lev. 20:13,
“If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman,
both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put
to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them”

They never said that man would be put to death if they lied with men only :3

  • @MySecretLoveAffair - Thats understandable, if it wasn’t sarcasm i’d be pretty pissed off to one of my bestfriends brothers is gay. It’s who they are you.. atleast they have enough courage to be open about it that takes alot of effort. Theyre as normal as you & me.

  • stop writing sarcastic posts. your readers are not smart enough to understand.

  • @ModernBunny - THat doesn’t make any sense.

Also, there is a growing number of athiest’s. Myself included that do not think it wise to continue to listen to anything in the bible.

  • I don’t know that “being gay” is a sin as much as “practicing homosexuality” is.  There’s a difference.

As people get farther away from creation there is more potential for “mutations” in DNA that can very well predispose someone to something, whether it’s autism, homosexuality, addiction, etc.  That said, it doesn’t mean that people can’t make both good and bad CHOICES.

  • Oh shut up.

  • @The_Cuban_Cabby - Well, I meant to say “unbelievers get out.” I didn’t realize my mistake until it was too late to edit it.

I was also not being serious.

Although if you read it as it is written, it could be saying “This is God’s country, all you believers show your loyalty by getting off His property!”

One could read it that way, if one were being charitable. :P

  • I hope that you’re only kidding, Dan. =[

  • I saw the title of this post and I actually laughed out loud.  My husband looked at me like I was crazy… hehehe, oh Dan.

  • the bible says a lot of bullshit things.

  • The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals.  That doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love heterosexuals.  It’s just that they need more supervision.

  • So what if say, a boy, sleeps with his brother? What do you call that then? A sin?

Great post, though, good way to generate attention.

  • You absolutely disgust me. And by the way, Catholics, Christians, etc stole holidays and religious symbols from the Pagans. First you people can’t come up with your own ideas, then you push all of your so called “morals and values” on everyone else? How exactly is it a sin to love another human being? You really should keep your thoughts to yourself before you embarrass yourself even more than you already have you ignorant fool.

  • I fail to believe that America is God’s country… considering Jesus was born in Israel and God’s been making a mess of things in the U.S.

So yes, I wish all the bigots, and I mean that with the most utmost respect, a good day.
And I do hope you have a nice day. I shall leave a quote…

” Where do you stand on gay marriage?”
” I believe gays have the right to be as miserable as the rest of us.”

  • What a good little Christian bot you are!

    (Not a typo for boy.)

  • haha i love the sarcasm here.  ive been really liking your recent posts.  youre taking risks.

  • All I can say is what many have said; I hope you`re beign extremely ironic here. If not then come for me with your stonings and judgements and dogma and prove once and for all that my utterly losing faith in the “goodness” of the Christian faith is totally validated!

  • I don’t think you’re being sarcastic but I think you’re entitled to your opinions like everyone else and anyone who’s fazed should just unsuscribe to your posts. (Correct me, of course, if I’m wrong.)

I don’t actually care for Homosexuality or any other tendencies that don’t affect me directly/ negatively, but I admire your ability to speak your mind under such circumstances.

  • …If my heart decides to fall in love with a woman, so be it.

  • @Made2sing4Jesus - yeah, but i think there’s a BIG difference between a nation following Him and a nation who is made by politically over-active Christians to behave as if they’re following Him whether they believe or not. a bunch of Christians getting all riled up and passing a bunch of laws so this nation acts nice and baptized while many of them simply don’t believe in God or have any interest in following the Bible really misses the point of Jesus’ message about discipleship, love, and individual people’s pursuits of Him. He’s not going to commend us for bullying a whole country to follow the rules. i believe He’ll be much more interested in how many people we talked to face to face, how much love and peace and humanity we shared with people. He didn’t tell the first church to make sure and change all the laws in rome so it was a nice Christian place to live, He told them to live how they knew they should- wisely, with love and patience and concern for others- regardless of what the law did or did not say.

    :)

  • A violent religion.

  • Dear Dan:

That’s pretty straightforward, isn’t it?  To my knowledge, the only time the word “abomination” is used in the Bible is in reference to sexual perversion.  Yet, there are hordes of “false prophets” out there, some who have managed to become ordained as ministers, who preach the opposite.  Jesus Himself had something to say about them!

The point is this:  The principles of morality set forth in the Christian Creed are God’s ordinances to Man.  It is not for any man to ignore, repeal or redefine God’s Word as would a cheap lawyer with the Constitution.  We see plenty of both, today.

Homosexuals should not be hated.  That, too, is against the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  BUT… their conduct is born of evil and cannot be excused.  Homosexuality is a denial of God, nature and the human heritage.  It blights the soul, spreads disease and misery and threatens children with its spiritual insanity.  It is a mental illness of the supreme order, not the result of any preordained condition as their activists claim.  And, wherever one form of perversity exists, all potentially exist.

Again; homosexuals are not to be hated.  But they must be ministered to so that they may regain a place in the human community.  And they must NEVER be legitimized in their practices.  They are a danger to themselves, to us and to every recognized standard of human decency.

    Steven Mark Pilling

  • Is this an attempt to offend people based on your previous post? If not, I agree with the California court’s decision. I hope it makes a precedent.

  • Kill the queers.

  • technically, the Bible doesn’t condemn being gay, but gay sex. it also condemns (same place in corinthians) people who drink alcohol and commands women to wear a hat in church (1 corinthians 11). i feel as though we christians miss the point when we get caught up in the list of rules. still working on what the point actually is, but the rules are not it.

  • @STEVENPILL - sex spreads disease. don’t relegate it to homosexuals. also, regarding this: “wherever one form of perversity exists, all potentially exist.” you are correct. the perversity is called human nature. it stems from human nature, not the homosexual lifestyle and choices. those are also perhaps outgrowths of human nature, but they are not roots themselves.

  • Does the bible also not say “Judge not, least ye be judged?” By saying definitively that homosexuality is wrong, you have gone against your own religion’s beliefs and judged someone else’s lifestyle/ biological station in life, and judged them to be wrong and against God, making you just as “bad” as the homosexuals you seem to loathe so.  If you are going to use the bible as a way to defend your close-mindedness, you also might consider the fact that the bible was written thousands of years ago by MEN, NOT GOD HIMSELF, and it contradicts itself over and over again.  You do not get to pick one rule from the bible because it suits your needs but ignore another because it doesn’t support what you believe or even partake in, yourself.

Why don’t you try the old saying, “Live and let live” instead of being an ignorant ass and judging how someone else choses to live their life.  It is none of your business and you have absolutely no right to judge.  And, as a leader here on xanga, where so many look up to you, you have a responsibility to your readers to be more objective while still making a point which is very different from what you have done in this post: passed judgment and then taken it onto your soapbox, making everything you wrote both ignorant as well as offensive.  You’re losing your flair for writing here and I would know, I’ve been reading your blog for a very long time and don’t much anymore because of the negative changes I’ve noticed in your writing and the way you present things.

As my mother always said, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all, esp. about issues like this.  You don’t understand (obviously) and have shown your ignorance to the world.  How about going back to the old theo and just presenting facts with a small bit of your own personal opinions, allowing your readers to begin discussions of their own on your blog, like you used to do? It made you look better and as readers, we enjoyed that theo more.  Just a thought…

  • Dear Pianist:

When you say that it’s not being a homosexual, but practicing homosexuality, that’s a sin, you attempt to draw a line that doesn’t exist.  It must be acknowledged that homosexuals are defined by their sexual practices.  That and nothing else.  And, as is so often the case with them, those practices are rampant and with multiple “partners”.

It’s not sex, natural or unnatural, that spreads disease.  It’s PROMISCUOUS sex that does so.  This is one of the main purposes for the sanctification of marriage, under God, between a man and a woman.

And, when a homosexual’s “appetites” likewise involve, as they do, the rankest of physical acts, the opportunity to spread disease is thereby greatly enhanced.

Perversity is not human nature.  It is a conscious defiance and rejection of nature.  That’s why its looked upon with abhorrence by those who are true to their human heritage, civilized principles and faith in the Word of God.

  • Love should be private issue, it is non of our business whether other couples is homosexual or not.

I think Bible is true only to believers. For non-believers, it is ____.(fill in any words you like)

As many countries have freedom of religion, homosexual marriage should also be allowed because there are non-believers, and they don’t believe the content of Bible.

  • A bold statement, whether you’re just trying to incite a riot or you actually mean it.

  • @STEVENPILL - Ummm…so wouldn’t allowing homosexuals to marry stop promiscuous sex among homosexuals (this is assuming that we live in a world where no one cheats)? You just said that marriage stops heterosexuals couples from engaging in promiscuous sex. By the way, do you realize that many homosexuals only have sex with the person they believe they truly love, just like many heterosexuals? And that using the word “appetite” suggests that homosexuals regard sex like food, which is rather demeaning and untrue?

And address this, in a country established by a group of people who rejected a clause in the Constitution that would have allowed all laws to be based on the Bible where pretty much every religion has a following and where legal, non-religious marriage exists (Ever heard of a justice of the peace? All that is is being legally married in front of a judge. No religious ceremony has to be followed to be married unless you want them to.), where a largely religious group that practices in poligamy (they somehow get away with it; it’s promiscuity at best) and where we have proven that STDs spread through the population regardless of sexual orientation (yes, HIV started out affecting mostly homosexual men, but that changed after homosexual men realized they also need to use condoms and after sexual education classes began better addressing STDs and how to properly avoid them), why should a religious argument based on texts that may not even mean what the English translation suggests deny a group of people the ability to become free of many worries and hassles that associate with non-married life?

  • I hope you’re being sarcastic.

  • My reasons are not based on the Bible. It just doesn’t seem right to me.
