i thought the whole point of a blog was to get things off your mind.
To write down things I can’t say to people I know. Or just out loud.

Dear Dan,
I’m a writer, and my blog is my notepad.
Michael F. Nyiri, poet, philosopher, fool
uh….there is no point? Well, okay, there is a point. Just not a point anyone other than myself cares about.
We’re supposed to have a point? Why didn’t anyone tell me that before I wasted five years of my life blogging without a point? What am I supposed to do now? I CAN’T TAKE THE PRESSURE!!!
To take down Chuck Norris at all cost!!!!
To pick up xangans.
To share the funny and profound things I come across in my daily life.
What’s the point of your blog?
And curse Xanga’s stupid formatting errors.
@NikBv - The first Xangan I met in real life thought I was a 40 year old stalker dude before we met. I didn’t exactly tell her that I was gonna see her . . . I just showed up at a debate tournament where she was competing and said “Hi, I’m Bebster from the internet.” The look on her face was priceless.
To express myself, which sounds really cliche but it’s the truth!

It’s two parts personal exploration and one part attention seeking, so the point is it’s a purely selfish pursuit, that may or may not excite the reader to do some exploring of their own.
blogs don’t have to have a point. they’re available for people to vent, complain, express joy or sadness, or to be creative. and many other things. that question was extremely faulty. some people are just dummies.
To chit chat about gaming. My other blog is just for fun and whatever is on my mind.
At the end of my sword.
Oh, wait. I think I read the question wrong.
To keep me sane by sharing and bitching to no one in particular.. but myself. Lol.
It helps to write these thoughts out.
To present my various opinions and thoughts whenever they come to my mind.
To be me….simple as that.
The point of my blog is to find out why sheep don’t shrink when it rains.
It a daily(ish) journal. But I’m hoping that having a journal blog will force me to do cool things so I have cool things to write about.
To pick up men. No far….no luck.
I know what the point of my post is…..But like your messenger,I have often wondered what the point of yours was, lol.
My question stems mainly from the observations that you often start with a news or xanga item, at best hint your own point of view, and never engage in re-commenting with your readers! So dan, what is the point of your post as you see it?
To rant with no audience in mind. I am what one would call a MASTURBATORY writer. xD
It’s a journal. I also stalk hot Xanga boys.
First it was to see just what it was,now it’s to see how much time I can waste.
I don’t really blog for other people, I just mainly do it for myself. if other people want to read it too that is a plus! I just like to have a place to put down my thoughts and experiences. I don’t keep a real journal, my writing is to slow and it get’s annoying…
The point of my blog is to rant and complain. Sometimes just talk about my life and see if anyone has anything to say about it.
I blog because it is less annoying to those around me than talking to myself. So I guess that is the point. To be less annoying to those around me.
actually, i would like to ask other commenters what is the point of commenting on a blog on which your comments will rarely if ever receive a reply? what’s the point of a comment if you never know whether the original poster is even paying attention to the response, other than the footprints tracker?
the point of my xanga is to provide my readers with quotes and photographs they can both enjoy and relate to. I also recently started posting music I really like, so hopefully they’ve broadened their horizons concerning music as well!
Sex ed/advice/news/etc and my own personal thoughts.
@Insomnia_Pickles_XtraTomato - very true. I’d like to see a reply back once in a while, just to know that someone is reading what I write on here.
to vent to some unknown source because as much as i love my friends, i feel like i can’t tell them anything. plus i enjoy writing about my day.
how ironic that you post this because i had a ranting post about how everyone tries to impress strangers. lol.
To vent, write about things so they don’t get lost in my mind
to get some feelings across. advice. humor. to write whatever the hell i want.
@musterion99 - Hey I have an idea. What is we wash all clothes in rainwater.Maybe they would never shrink then!
To write out whatever it is that’s floating about in this grey matter of mine! Oh, and to meet and connect with awesome Xangans (like you) also!! =)
i don’t write my blogs for a purpose. maybe that’s the point- free writing.
To send secret codes to Wikileaks, Al Qaeda, and their operatives in Xanga. IpslayickslayDano.

to keep talking, even when I’m brain dead. If I keep going, I don’t end up as jacked up, though I appear to be the most egocentric person on the planet. I just don’t know what else to dedicate my blog to.

My blog has no point. It is round and round things do not have a point.

Cheap, in the public’s mind, agency poor superior even if that’s not the case. Seiko doesn’t absolutely get the account it deserves.
its my personal diary where I bitch and whine and complain as much as i want
what’s your answer? i like to write. that is the point of my blog.
My blog is a memorial to who I was yesterday.
The point of my blog is to put down information that I want to post. Nothing super dramatic or world shattering, just putting things out there that I want to, its that simple.
my point? it’s the pursuit of happiness. it’s always that, isn’t it?
I have to have a point???

@ShimmerBodyCream - hahaha.

No point at all. I’m the Seinfeld of bloggers.
LOL! No point to my blog, I’m afraid.
I usually don’t have a point because I’m a pointless individual anyway…….
To document and vent about the insanity that is my life. And the fun stuff too
Sanity en creatvity, that’s what it’s all about.
Rants, insights and other mundane things like that.
to vent to post thoughts i might forget to remember where I was at that time
To write everything I can never say.
My blog is me thinking out loud.
