  • My Xanga Bucket List

    Here is my xanga bucketlist:

    1.  That xanga would fix it so we could see all of our friend's updates in our inbox (currently, it skips a bunch of your friends that are updating).  
    2.  That xanga would fix footprints.
    3.  That xanga would fix the photos so that if you are trying to use a photo that you already have uploaded, you could go back more than the last 6 photos.
    4.  That xanga would fix it so we could see all of the replies that people give to our comments (currently, it skips a bunch of replies to your comments).
    5.  That xanga would respond to our emails if we are having a problem.
    6.  That xanga would make it so you could return to your home page without backspace multiple pages.
    7.  That if I hit my message button, it would not take 15 seconds to load my messages.
    8.  That xanga would read this post and respond to just one of these issues.
    9.  That Shimmer would post more photos of her boobs.

  • I clearly need to be more active on xanga; I was unaware of most of the problems you listed. I think I've always gotten a response whenever I've messaged a member of the Xanga Team with a question or a problem.

  • Xanga needs to get rid of those little pop up snap shots when you hover someone's username. It really slows everything down. It's a useless feature that is just bogging the whole site down.

    I never see my inbox feed skip over posts. I don't have many friends and subs, so maybe its a numbers thing.

    Only shimmer gets to exploit her boobs for comments! Shame on you Theo!

  • 1. Los Angeles meetup.

    2. San Diego meetup.

    3. Meet my geographically distant Xanga friends. (I can think of two in Ohio, one in Virginia, and one in Texas.)

    4. Troll DivaJyoti in person and post the video online.

    5. Meet Turnthepaige, beat her in a debate and make her cry.

    6. Dance on DearRicky's grave.

    7. Find out who Nikbv, Musterion99, and QuantumStorm really are.

  • 1. That Xanga recognizes abusive trolls like the community does and learns how to ban them so they can't return under new usernames.

    2. Offer Chinese language classes so I can read and understand HKblog posts. 

    3. Post daily cheeseburger contests so I can haz cheezburger. 

    Apart from number 1 I think Xanga does a pretty good job. Numbers 2 and 3 would be chocolate icing on the cake. 

  • What is number 2 all about? I didn't know the footprints were broken. Is that why I get hits from people who leave nothing except what browser they used?

  • Shimmer and boobs is a win, definitely. More boobs all around. And they need to make a teleporter for this shit so we can do meet ups.

  • Some of these I know are not real problems. There already is a way to get back home straight from wherever you are. And I can get further back than six pics. And I don't even think its their fault how long it takes pages to load.    

    Everything I ever wanted to accomplish on Xanga, I already have. Except for meetups. 

  • I only agree with #9. The rest are irrelevant as long as #9 is fixed. *Looks towards shimmer with big green (slightly menacing) eyes*

  • More plugins-integration for other social sites (twatter, youtube, whatever else). I wish I could edit xanga's source code when I enter programming courses in college. Maybe I'll improve on the Android App when I find a good IDE to work with. 

  • Lol that they make an iPad friendly app so it's easier to post from a tablet, and reply to comments

  • @shezadey - trying go to m.xanga.com? I favor the browser app versus the iOS and Android apps. Very Buggy, but like I mentioned in my last comment, maybe I can clean up the android app as a hobby project when I learn android programming. 

  • #6 - Just click where it says Home at the Top left or put your homepage on the toolbar or right click on the back arrow. I'd like more words in pulse.

    Previews: Enable graphic previews on links (?)

     is where you can turn off those previews on your site. If you can convince others to turn them off, you'll have what you want...no more little annoyances. 

  • @moniet - Ihave them off already. They still load up in the background and slow things down though.

  • @Lithium98 - Yeah, they do. At least turned off they don't flip up into text at inopportune times. *Sigh* Lots of things I'd love to see changed...that list is a good start, though I personally don't care much about looking at anyone's boobies, if it gets the rest taken care of I can continue to ignore them.

    My one and only request is that Xanga bring back the metros.
    That was a fantastic way to meet people! If folks don't want to be on it, they can opt out.

  • I want more meet-ups. Although I've met quite a few Xangans it seems.

  • That they fix the iPhone app so it works better. I can't see messages and it STILL opens a browser window whenever someone posts an embedded video. Which was supposedly fixed but broke again.

  • I wish I had that comment problem. I'm lucky if I see one. 

  • There's a module that says it's "undergoing construction and will be up soon".... it's been like that for like... 3 years at least. 

    I'm not even sure how they still operate, honestly. 

  • Xanga is xanga and will always be and I am just happy to be above ground at my age.  No complaints at all except I wish someone would let that skinny young woman who is trapped inside this old body out.

  • For the first time I agree with your post. 

  • Xanga needs a new UI and paid bloggers.  It also needs to find a demographic and market to it.  Xanga has always been too all over the place, and has never really developed an identity.
