  • Lie Detectors

Do you think lie detectors are accurate?

  • Maintaining Your Eyebrows

After I waited in line at the bank yesterday for 14 minutes while staring at the high butt crack of the woman in front of me, I was able to cash my check.

I took the money from the check and went to the mall and made an appointment to have my eyebrows waxed.  I have my eyebrows waxed about every six weeks.  Once you have your eyebrows waxed, you feel you need to keep them up.

Different people pick different ways to maintain their eyebrows.  Some will pick waxing them.  There are others who will pluck them.  Then there is always the “do nothing” approach.

Which way do you use to maintain your eyebrows?

  • High School Education

It has been reported that a number of people have been dropping out of high school but still going on to college.  According to the New York Times, 2 percent of people in college do not have a high school diploma.  The number has been increasing.

Apparently this has caused some to question whether people should be eligible for financial aid in college if they haven’t received their diploma.  A few states are trying to address this issue.

Should people who have not graduated from high school be eligible for financial aid in college?

  • Flag Burning

Every once in a while the issue of flag burning becomes an issue in our nation.  The supreme court has ruled that defacing a flag is protected speech.  Various amendments to the Constitution have been introduced.

Should flag burning be considered free speech?

  • Patience and the Phone

While I was standing in line at the bank staring at the butt crack of the woman in front of me, I noticed that it was taking longer than usual to get through the line.  It took 14 minutes to get through the line.  I was annoyed it was taking so long.  One of the ladies standing behind me finally decided to leave and she was clearly angry.  Now she had to wait less than the 14 minutes that I had to wait and she left.  Maybe she was mad because my butt crack was showing.

A little later I saw a report that Americans in general are impatient.  Apparently Americans hate to be put on hold while on the phone.  A recent poll taken by the associated press indicated that 54% of Americans said “they can wait no more than five minutes on hold before losing their patience.  According to the survey “only 7 percent” could wait more than 20 minutes.

I couldn’t help but to think that I would lose my patience after 30 seconds on hold.

How long would it take for you to lose your patience on the phone if you were put on hold?

  • Body Parts

I was standing in line today at the bank and a woman was standing in front of me in front of the teller.  I couldn’t help but to notice that her butt crack was showing outside her pants.  Back in the day we would make fun of plumbers for showing their butt crack.  But now it is common place to see the butt crack of non plumber types.

As I saw her butt crack, I couldn’t help but to notice it was a little high for a butt crack.  She had form fitting pants but yet her butt crack extended up above them.  It is not unusual for a butt crack to show when you are leaning over in those type of pants but her butt crack was clearly too high.  Some may be bothered that I posted about her butt crack but believe me when I say this butt crack was begging to be blogged about.

It got me think about how everyone has certain parts of their body that don’t appear to be created just right.  My wife always talks about how she is high-waisted.  She feels her waist is higher than a typical person’s waist.

I even have one of these little flaws.  My ears are not even.  You really can’t notice it when you meet me.  No one has ever pointed it out.  I just spend a lot of time looking in the mirror and my ears don’t match.  One is slightly higher than the other.  So when I shave, I have to cut one of the side burns higher than the other or it will make one side burn look longer.

Describe a part of your body that just doesn’t seem to look right to you.

  • Funeral Music

I was at a funeral recently and a song was played that didn’t appear to match the person’s personality who had died.  I found out later that a family member had picked out the song and the whole family was shocked at the playing of the song.  It is sort of funny how one person can make a great deal of the decisions for a funeral.

The funeral was perfect in every way.  Then this song was played.

So I have told my wife what song I want played at my funeral.  The song is by MercyMe and has the following lyrics:

    “I Can Only Imagine”

    I can only imagine
    What it will be like
    When I walk
    By your side

    I can only imagine
    What my eyes will see
    When your face
    Is before me
    I can only imagine

    [Chorus:]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
    I can only imagine

    I can only imagine
    When that day comes
    And I find myself
    Standing in the Son

    I can only imagine
    When all I will do
    Is forever
    Forever worship You
    I can only imagine

    [Chorus]

    I can only imagine [x2]

    I can only imagine
    When all I will do
    Is forever, forever worship you

What song would you want played at your funeral?

  • Music

The music I hate most on this Earth is country music.  My mom used to listen to the country music station when I was growing up.  I thought one day they would have music in hell playing in the background.  The Bible says that there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth” in hell.  I figured only country music could cause that kind of reaction.  People will tell you it is different today.  I still hate it.

What type of music makes you want to gouge your eyes out?

  • Constitution

If you could go back in time and have the founding fathers write one more issue into the constitution, what would you want them to write?

  • Commute

I was reading on the drudgereport recently that people are making longer and longer drives to and from work.  They gave examples of people that were spending up to two hours a day driving to and from work.

When I was going to college in Texas, I was driving an hour each way to work.  I felt like I spent half my life in the car.  Now it only takes 10 minutes for me to get to work.

How long is your drive to and from work or school?
